Christmas day volunteering

What's the good of managing a forum if you can't use it for yourself eh?!

well, i've got my own question for you all that i need some advise on...

I'm thinking of volunteering on Christmas day this year. Has anyone done this before and if so, have you got any good suggestions where and how i could go about this?

Wouldn't working 2 days, before xmas, be more beneficial for both parties? (the people you are helping, and yourself?)

i would love to have my own farm and work it everyday.

Good Deeds for the win.

I am on sick pay, so might be hitting the soup kitchens myself.

The kids will be gutted when I tell them that we are going to be converting to Jehovahs Witnesses this Christmas to avoid buying presents. Should save a few-bob until I get back to work.................

HI RICH SEEING AS IT IS GOING TO BE A COLD WINTER SOME THING FOR THE HOMELESS TO KEEP WARM MIGHT BE AN IDEA.
SO SHELTER OR EVEN SOMETHING LIKE A CLOTHES DRIVE COLLECT WARM UNWANTED CLOTHES FROM FRIENDS FAMILY OR EVEN PUT A POST UP FOR DONATIONS.

I do this every year but don't like to mention it, so unfortunately can't give advice

I do a lot of volunteering and i think that what you are trying to do is fantastic. Please consider helping somewhere that is providing Christmas dinner for older people who are lonely at this time of year and really appreciate the meal and the company. Try to do something in your own community ( don't know where that is). If you know of someone who would benefit from what you are doing, suggest that they go along with you.

I've thought about this post many times in the last week whilst working long hours in the cold and snow. It's helped keep a smile on my face at times. :-)))

I use to be a milkman many moons ago,and you had to work Christmas Day unless you could get someone to cover for you.
You didn`t half get some good tips off most people if you played the sad guilt trip card about working on Chrimbo Day.
