Greatest band ever???

Hey all,

What's your opinion on who is the greatest Band ever?

Tough one, but i must go for Radiohead.. they have just evolved with every song they write, have an open mind on all aspects of music, but still come up with the most beautifully strange music ever heard.

I have seen them a number of times live, and i still get amazed on how talented they all are. No doubt at all, they have given us some of the greatest music ever heard.

In Rainbows caps it all off, every track is outstanding, and i cant wait for the next album!

If you agree with that, or have your own band you want to shout about, lets hear!

P.S, some other great bands:

Interpol, The National, Editors, The Smiths, Pink Floyd...

Talk about a subjective thread!

I must admit, I've not heard an awful lot of Radiohead's stuff but most of what I have heard I've found pretty depressing.

For me it will always be Bon Jovi. Granted, they're not to everyone's taste (but that's also the great thing about the music business, something for everyone). I've lost count of the number of times I've seen them live but they were the first band that really got me into music. I really want to see them again at Hyde Park next year but at the moment I just don't have the money

Their last studio album (The Circle) is without doubt their best for a few years. Back to what they do best unlike Lost Highway which had too much of a country sound for my liking.

N1, lead man Charlie, out of Northolt or Perivale i thought, i was a bit young really, bout 14/15, but me and mate used to tag along with his older brothers who used to go to gigs!!

We'd sneak into the Marquee, Aklam Hall, White Hart Acton, [reg for Subs] & Roxy Harlesden, be great, & go to Rough trade by portabello market when bunkin school!! Ruts were a fav too, from similar manor.

In fact couple of mates now, had kids in same school Ruislip as Paul Fox from Ruts, say he was nice fella too, unfortunately heard he passed away few years ago!!

Fraid football & birds took over by time i was 18 LOL!! Music took a back seat!

.Good to see you sneaked into a few venues as well lol Ive seen hundreds of punk bands i had a ball

.Still go to live gigs today cant beat live music.My claim to fame i seen the sex pistols in 1978 in manchester before they got famous there was 70 people at the gig me and my father was dressed in bin bags lol.Football and ladies nothing wrong with that m8 lol.Btw im from manchester and you hitman?
