He batted well, and don't wanna take anything away from him or the English batsmen, but what an auwful bowling attack the Aussies have sent out this series so far.
I thought England would struggle to take 20 wickets, and tbh, I think we still will in the next 3 matches, so this opportunity to finish off the test match and go 1 up is absolutely massive in my opinion.....
Anderson has really surprised me, and I've been disappointed with Finn - would like to see Tremlett come in for the next test in Perth.
Anyone who disagreed with me at the start of the series, when I said England wont need 6 specialist batsmen against this Aussie attack, must now surely have changed their mind.
Although if we go 1 up - they're always gonna take the safe option.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee let the weather hold up, an hour batting tonight, should be the plan. If I see anyone leave the ball outside off stump (after the first 2-3 overs) I will go mad. Theres no time to waste, 100 in the first 15 overs play is a must, and stick them in.
They are there for the taking, and we should win this series 2 or 3 nil!!!
Already lost time to rain and more forecast, why wait.
Were not going to lose this test but could let the win slip away by being to cautious.
From BBC's online blog of The Ashes:
"In this sort of shape, Pietersen is like no other England batsman in memory. There have been more prolific run-scorers, there have been more graceful stroke-makers. There have been more pugnacious fighters.
But no-one else combines all three of those virtues, and then adds the swagger of Shere Khan and the strut of a show-pony."
Class. 8->
I personally cant stand the guy but what an incredible talent when he can bothered to score big knocks like he did yesterday so ill certainly give him 10/10 for that.............
As far as the match goes, i think an extra 100 runs wont go a miss and should that happen and Ponting gets another duck when the Aussies bat again then it will be the easiest of easiest innings victories for Straussy and co!
I don't have to stay up all night now!
What a pity.
Well done Australia. More of the same please !
Mitchell Johnson and sunshine ftw
Traitorousness ftw. Always hated england.
You sad chav
btw the indecipherably crumply package at the bottom of your tree has trackie bottoms in it.
Enjoy your Christmas x
Which does explain why it took you a couple of attempts with your last message i suppose, or will you be changing it again after you discover another brain cell.(let me know when you reach double figures we'll have a party to celebrate)
Fwiw, thanks i will enjoy X-mas, always do mate. Of course it does help waking up and not hating everybody and everything around me.
Tbh not that keen on cabbage though, hey just thought of a nickname for you. Now without over extending those precious few brain cells, see if you can work it out.
All the best

handbags at dawn!
Who's Sidney?
Personally I'd drop Collingwood. How can anyone justify picking a batsman who isn't scoring runs? Bring back Finn and play a more balanced team with 5 bowlers, it's asking too much to play with 4 through a test series. We've already seen Broad injured, and Finn rested due to being 'tired'.
Medium term, Bell at 5, Prior 6, Bresnan 7, Broad 8, Swann 9. Not completely convinced with Bresnan as an out and out test class bowler, but as a 4th seamer who can bat I think he currently brings a better balance to the team than a batsman who bowls occasionally.
