Sky Poker forums will be temporarily unavailable from 11pm Wednesday July 25th.
Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
Now is the time to say Goodbyeeee......
Some 4 years & 2 months since I first set foot in Feltham Studios, & started my journey with Sky Poker (without which I would have long ago retired), today we leave Feltham & move on to pastures new.
Some sadness today, but excitement too. Nothing stays the same forever, & we have to move on, & embrace change.
It's organised chaos here today. Mother is in charge of the whole Studio & Office Move, & she's worked tirelessly at it for many months now. The "office move" (today) is the least of her problems, but she's on top of everything, as per, with her penchant for solving problems rather than finding them.
There will be no Live Show this Thursday, as that day will be devoted to "Technical Rehearsals", but, all being well, the Live Show will return on Saturday.
We plan to stay in our "new" Studio for about 8 months, then we move to a brand-new, all singing & dancing studio with oodles of bells & whistles.
There will be a few glitches along the way, there are bound to be, it's a very complex thing, but we'll get there.
So, for now, from all of us at Feltham......

Good luck with the move
tikay.. so you're not threatening to leave?
Good luck with the move.
Just think of all the wonderful things you could show and talk to him about
To be honest, I've only visited the new Studio once, & I can't really remember quite where it is. And I've not even seen our new Office yet, I've no idea where it is.
For now, I'm in my regular Monday office at West Cross House - "WXH" - I have worked at this office every Monday for a year or so now. We share it with other Members of Sky Betting & Gaming, and peeps like Stephen Downer (Head of Gaming, SB&G) Ted Moss (Head of Marketing, SB&G), Des Duffy (Head of Poker), Blandy (head of writing-ey stuff), as well as loads of peeps from Bet, Vegas, Bingo, & Oddschecker. "Sky Bet" being what it is, there are plasmas on every wall showing Live Sport, & peeps sat at their desks watching Live Horse Racing, Greyhound Racing, football, da de da (as part of their job), it's like dying & waking up in Heaven!
The BSKYB Campus at Osterley, where we are moving to, is huge, absolutely massive. I did not arrive until Midday today, so had to park in one of the distant Car Parks - which was a full 25 minutes walk to this Office. There are scores of Office Buildings here, & the site must cover hundreds of acres.
Anyway, I took a few photos of our "old" Feltham office before I left today, see below. It was part of a leased Studio Complex from someone called "Arqiva", who do that sort of thing all over the UK. Eurosport will remain there, & a few others, too - ESPN, I think, & "Perform".

Below, a random Feltham office this morning. What a mess!
This was full of desks until 9am today - 8 people worked here, including Des Duffy.
And now, all the desks & stuff have gone.
This (foreground) was the area where 'Ling, Mandy, Mother, & myself worked. Further back (all desks & clutter now gone) was where Chan (Director) & the PS etc all worked.
This is Carmen, who is at Osterley what Mother is at Feltham, sort of in charge of sorting everything & everyone. You may remember her from Blackpool SPT, & she'll prob be at Newcastle, too. She looks remarkably happy today, considering she is a genuine, funny-speaking, pure-bred Australian. Good girl, good craic.
Another view of our part-dismantled office area this morning.
This was our "Gallery" at Feltham. The Gallery sits adjacent the Studio, & is where the Show is made, really.
Another view of the Gallery. The dark window left is the Sound Booth, the big black screen to the right is a clever plasma screen, where all the camera feeds, output feeds, clocks, etc are configured. It can have as many as 20 "monitors" superimposed on it.
The Studio being dismantled. The 2 guys to the left are taking apart "the jib", which is the big movey-abouty swoopy shot jobbie.
This is the "back row" of the Gallery (foreground). Front foreground is where Producer 'Ling sits, with 2 Monitors.
Another view of the giant Plasma, with the "front row", which is where the Director, Chan, sits, & the Vision-Mixer, PA, & Techie-blokeys sit.
Inside the Sound Booth.
Sound Desk/Mixer/thingie.
No idea what this is.
This is usually full of leads & cables.....
....which are now all hung up here......some poor so & so has to put them all back in soon!
The Gallery, seen from the entrance door.
Now, who am I???
Good Luck with the Move
Love Pete and Dud
Hope you enjoy your new home! good luck sky team with the move.
When you mention "oddschecker". Is this part of sky or the actual oddschecker website?
Just one question
Where`s the hot chocolate vending machine gone?
LOL
Gary
Im sure there would be a call for it from the men (and some women) when a certain presenter is on lol
(drag my brain from the gutter time i think)
Yesterday, in fact, Mother threw me out of Feltham at about 11am, as I was messing everything up. She thought I was just being stupid, moving the wrong boxes & so forth, but I knew EXACTLY what I was doing.
"You sure I cannot help?".
"No no, you get off, we'll be ok".
Lovely when a plan comes together, eh?
Oddschecker? Good question.
The website & business "OddsChecker" is part of what is known as "Sky Betting & Gaming Group".
The "family" mainly consists of Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Bingo, & Sky Poker, OddsChecker, & some other stuff. They mostly share a common platform, though OddsChecker sits slightly differently to the other 4, who share much more, including a "common wallet" & shared back-office services. All benefit from Central Accounting, & access to a very large IT resource.
The whole SB&G Group benefits from interaction & cross-migration between the various Sites. Each individual unit benefits from this in some way or another. It must be near-unique in the Online Gaming industry, everything fits like a glove.
