TRAIN QUESTION FOR TK
not originaly from the uk so not sure of your rail system . but regading the snow this week and the halting of the train system as i understant it alot of trains run on a third rail eletric system so when it snows heavy they dont work.
wouldnt it make sense that if a train got stuck (like the one that was stuck overnight ) to send a desiel eletric shunting engine that dont need the 3rd rail to go and rescue the stuck train.and if they could do that they should be able to run some services with other engines ?
if there arent enough deisiel trains there are still some steam around .
another question why does the tube network shut down in bad weather surely the weather underground is constant no snow so why dont they run?
