can anyone answer this

edited January 2011 in Poker Chat
OK guys was looking at the viva las vegas sat. Not sure if theres any point in entering them - whats the cut-off date to be 21, my 21st around that time would consider having a satellite pop if im allowed to play in the big one.

You have to be 21 to enter the casino/card room so as long as your 21 by the time you have to play it is fine imo - just out of interest when do you turn 21?

I think the ME begins on the 7th of July so you could play Day1B/C/D but not Day 1A (Obviously confirm these but im pretty certain that the dates are correct). The only downfall is that you will be out there for a week before the ME and a bit bored cos you can't play pokerz or go drinking etc but you maybe willing to do that for a week to be able to play the ME :)

P.S. Your best bet is to obviously perhaps PM Tikay etc to actually confirm.

Because he isn't gonna answer the answer himself live on the show and because I don't know which staff member is organising Vegas this year, tikay could point don in the right direction and don could then contact that person.

It's not in the terms and conditions Don, but logic would tell me that if you can legally play day 1b, 1c, or 1d, there shouldnt be a problem!

In fact if you played it on your 21st b/day that would be amazing! and if you win the ME, you would be the youngest ever winner!

Ok, im getting carried away now, you cant even beat Hoggers hu, how are you gonna win the ME??:)

The Rules are as stated above, by Dylan & others.

You cannnot play poker in any Regulated Cardroom within the State of Nevada until you are 21.

So based on your birthday, & the Main Event starting days, you could in fact play it.

Personally, I would advise you swerved it for a year. Part of the whole Sky Poker VLV experience is arrriving a few days before the ME begins, & we all go & play some fun poker around the various Cardrooms in Vegas (Caesars, Venetian, etc) just to settle ourselves down, get the feel of local poker customs & etiquette, da de da. You be barred from entering them until your 21st, & might feel a little left out, if you get my drift. But that's up to you.

There will be plenty of other years to go to Vegas, you should enjoy your 21st with your family & friends in Scotland, imo.

    Many thanks for replying tikay.

I may now look into qualifying. In all honesty i need a holiday and wouldnt mind railing the greatness of VLV SP players for a few days.

Don, you realise if you spend your 21st in Vegas you may well not have any memories of your birthday and be married to a cocktail waitress by the time you'e on your flight home don't you?

    Good luck in your quest.

If you do qualify would that make you the youngest player ever to play in the WSOP?

there have been plenty of guys who have played the WSOP ME on their 21st Birthday.  Think 1 guy made the record books last year as he played 1D.
