Spot of set mining early in a DYM, and hit bottom set. Facing a raise and a call, do you flat or raise here?

    Pretty simple raise imo.

We only have bottom set (third to nuts at this point) with a 45 board. We dont want 67, 23 type hands getting a cheap turn card. Also we are raising for value we want that pot big. Even in a dym we want it in by the river.

Reasons being, we want to be in good shape for cashing. Therefore a big stack with our big hands is good. Secondly if we have them covered we also lose an opponent

Agree with don, bigger raise than 1/2 the pot will then allow more value to bet on the next street and if someone is drawing they'll likely call you to the river.

Didn't like 2 opponents so I raised 3/4 pot. Everyone folded, and I just wondered if I'd got the best from the hand.

it was limped pre flop, so they coulda had anything so u prob did get the best value available.

bestest value from set when its been raised as then u could be up against the over pair or Top pr Great kicker, which are better hands to be against than the 67 sooted types,

and far better against than the dreaded all action an over set would of given you

quite a dry board so flats not the worst, personally i raise 180-200 here make people pay for draws etc also if someone has top pair good kicker they may go with it. only thing different i may raise 3 x bb pre as utg but not always depends on the table

    played fine
