Do aces ever hold up on this site?

edited January 2011 in The Poker Clinic
I have been playing alot of hands over the last week and had Aces about 7/8 times and 4 times i have had all the money in pre flop and lost and the other times i have reraised preflop and every turn only to be out drawn.

I have been beaten by KK,88,Q10,78D,OJ,910,KJ and 66.

I can get the hands on here if someone can explain how i can paste the hands from my hand history.

But i just cant see what i am doing wrong. i am getting the money in ahead everytime. I of course understand that bad beats happen but for aces not to hold up 8 out of 8 times is getting stressful.

Its either stick with it or just slow play and dont get the pot so big as i am sick of losing my stake in one hit.

I understand with aces your normally onto a winner but this site just seems to enjoy punishing me. i am guessing i am not alone on this one.

and feedback would be helpful

Yes the site is programmed to make you lose with aces...

Seriously, it is just maths, AA is not invincible, it is only 1 pair. It can be a vulnerable hand and it will be beat a certain percentage of the time. You have just had your beats in a row, so you are due a few wins in a row with AA. It will happen. Don't get paranoid about the hand, just play it strong and correctly, and learn to fold it on dangerous boards (flushing/straightening)

    Good Luck.

    san, Aces never hold.

    Give up the game.
  • edited January 2011

Both those hands are coolers. They happen to us all.

Ive had several outdraws similar to those recently when multitabling double your money sit and goes, but im still making a small profit. Work that out!

AA will hold up against another PP about 80% of the time so this means out ever 10 times u get AA u can excpect to be outdrawn at least twice.... thats poker even a 20% dog can win

not being funny but i am new to poker forums and nl10 with 200bb & nl40 with 50 bb means nothing to me and playing out of our BR means nothing to me aswell.

Hi rumsey, welcome to the forum. if like above you dont understand just post

Don is referring to big blinds, when you sit down you are recommended to buy in full (usually 100 bb, but sometimes 200 max). Personally everyone buys in to suit how they play some play better 50 bb deep, some with 200 which obviously allows for more play. also if you do buy in full you should really be topping up but then again thats down to the individual its only recommended because if you get aces or a strong hand next then you can win more.

    Good luck at the tables
    John

Both hands are NL10, the 40 is a raise in the first hand. Start of the hand has been cut off i think.

No, he's playing nl10 with a full stack both hands.

i was plauing nl10 which is a max of £20 stack, i was pretty much full in both cases so not sure what the point of that response was tbh.

Fair play rumsey, tbh i didnt even look i just assumed don was correct but checked after other two posted. i was just clearing up what he said ;)

Don mis read the hand because the small blind being posted at the start of the hand had been cut off when you copied it across.

Playing outside your bankroll and losing to a bad beat may have explained your obvious distress.
  • edited January 2011
no mate both were in my bank roll just seemed to be getting done over alot with aces and it always seems to be when i have a full roll or more.
