Placing on a multi way all in?

edited January 2011 in The Poker Clinic
Hi, was playing a DYM sit and go, there was a 3 way all, i came 4th, with a player who had the weaker losing hand coming 3rd and got paid, how is placing judged in that spot?, would have thought the player with the stronger losing hand, would have placed the highest.

It's the person who has the highest stack at the start of the hand that cashes in this instance.

yeah as johnconnor says.. so just say if u have 1k and he has 1.2k and the big stack knocks both u out on the bubble as he had more chips b4 the hand he would come 3rd

A8 of hearts, flop came down 5  J of hearts and A of spade's, so i had a mini nut flush draw and top pair, was small stack and looking for an opportunity to get chips in, went all in, big stack went all in (about 4000 chips), then someone else followed all in, big stack hand was 55 and won with a set, not sure why the other person called all in with Q and 2 of hearts, i would have folded in his/her spot.

These kind of calls on dym bubbles are more common than you think esp in the small stakes. Its why i make a profit at dyms. A lot of people don't think about the dynamics of dyms, and the stack sizes. They just look at pretty flush draws and snap call!!
