Given the way results have gone against me this season (& most other punters too) I seriously considered chucking some money on all the underdogs this weekend.
As it is I've decided against that & have initially gone for one 4 way for tomorrow. I'll be adding either an under/over or a both to score acca tomorrow though.
Main Acca:
Swansea to beat Palace (H) @ 4/7
Leeds to beat Scunthorpe (H) @ 4/7
Hartlepool to beat Dagenham (H) @ 4/5
Chesterfield to beat Stevenage (H) @ 10/11
These 4 are paying 7/1 & I've decided to play it a little safer this week. Rather than lumping my usual tenner on I've gone for 4 x trebles & 1 x 4 way @ £2.50 per line (so £12.50 staked). If just one result lets me down (as seems to usually be the case!) then I'll pretty much get my money back so nothing lost. Of course, should all 4 come in then I'll still pick up just over £70. That does mean a slightly lesser payout than if I'd stuck the tenner on all 4 but I'll go with that for now.
Swansea are currently 4th in the championship & are very strong at home. They've lost 3 of their last 6 in the league but all 3 of those have come on the road. At the Liberty they've lost only 2 from 13 & have the best home defensive record in the division having only conceded 5 goals in those games. In contrast Palace are having a tough time this season. They're currently 3rd bottom, have a new & inexperienced manager & the worst away record in the division. In the 13 games played away from Selhurst this season they've won just once & lost 10. They're barely averaging a goal a game home away this season (26 goals from 25 games) & away from home it's even worse as they've only scored 10. Given Swansea'a home form & tight defence I'd expect another home victory here.
Leeds are another side in decent form at the moment. Currently 5th in the division they're only 2 points off the automatic spot & are a decent bet at Elland Road. They lost at Cardiff last time out in the league but prior to that they were unbeaten in 12 which also includes a 4-1 at Scunthorpe back in October. Scunthorpe are really missing Nigel Adkins & have lost 8 of their last 10 in the league. They have been better on the road than at Glanford Park ths season with 6 wins on their travels but Leeds really should be too strong for them here.
Hartlepool have surprised me a bit this season. Currently sitting in 10th place in league 1 with a game in hand against most of the teams above them they've had a decent run of late. They've won 4 of their last 6 in the league. Visitors Dagenham are rock bottom of the division & don't travel well. In 12 attempts so far they won only 2 & lost 8 on the road this season. In their last 6 home & away they've won once & lost 5.
Chesterfield are top of league 2 & are really strong at home. They've only lost 2 from 12 there so far & have scored a massive 34 goals which averages at nearly 3 goals per game. They come into this game in good form too with 4 wins & 1 defeat from their last 6. Despite a decent start to the season Stevenage have slipped down the ladder in recent weeks. They've won 1 & lost 3 of their last 6 & that 1 victory came at home to lowly Barnet who have won only once on their travels themselves. They'll make it difficult for Chesterfield but this is a big price for a home win.
Good luck if you're having a go peeps. I'll post up any other bets I do tomorrow
