turned straight, river horror

edited January 2011 in The Poker Clinic
Villain is a solid reg who hasn't stepped out of line against me in this or the previous few sessions. I'm happy to call him from the button pre as his opening range can be 'creative'. When he bets the flop, it could well be a standard 3 quarter button c bet. I'm happy to keep it small at this stage and call.

Turn is lovely, although obviously the flush does arrive if I'm very unlucky. Villain now checks, again in line with a c bet, and I fire an amount that isnt getting me suckered in but also gives me an answer to his range. River pairs (always a horror) and villain tanks before firing large just before timebar runs out. What's best in this situation and should I have asked a larger question on flop / turn???
