Good to see Jon back on Sky Poker. He was always good value on The Club....
Question for him to pitch, from one ex-journo to a real one
"Does he feel that being in the poker industry has improved his game at all? What has he learnt during his time as a poker writer, and did any one player teach him more than others?"
Anyone else noticed that trevor might as well be comentating on football, XX has TT, XX has QQ, up to £1.50 we can see that trevor we can see..... your supposed to be an analyst trevor!!!!

Hi Guys Please say hello to Jon and ask him if he remembers bumming a lift with me and my girlfreind in our strecth limo to his hotel in Vegas and sharing our complimentary bottle of cheap plonk on the way there
Without meaning to be rude...The WPT Mag website is pretty poor and has next to no content and no up to date news. As the web editor at another poker magazine's website, I would be available to jump ship for a pay rise. That is all

Hard to be positive about TH the guy says nothing every week he's on, a running commentary on what we can all see is the extent of it, maybe that's good enough for you but what the hell are the viewers learning? Why should I be surprised, Harris bangs on about omaha every chance he gets, maybe he needs to leave Hold'em to someone who can add some real input. Did LML just say he's back on next week who keeps booking this clown?
well i think our Trevor is nothing but positive ,his input into the cash games is second to none ,and comes across as a very likeable chap ,with his pleasant manner ,thrown in ,very easy to listen too ,and explains situations very well .......unlike you ,who goes trolling the forum, making a right dipstick of yourself.,,,with your unpleasant manner......enough said Posted by TENOFSPADE
Are you serious? Consider lolufolds appearances and his input v TH's, Trevor's supposed to be an analyst not a commentator or have sky got the job descriptions wrong. Sure he may well have a pleasant manner, be very easy to listen to but he explains situations very well lol, he doesn't even tell you why a guys raising in the first place. Maybe he can do it and chooses or is instructed not to, although this seems unlikely given the positive response to lols appearance and his analysis of hands and spots in them, Trevor was on the first show wasn't he and Sky recognised the very positive response.
Jon Young made some excellent points as did Nik Persaud and John Tabatabai on previous shows, we can all see the hands so we don't need to be told what the players hold or the size of their opening raises. Its not like Sky don't have options, what's happened to RO and ED on sat nights, Rich is very entertaining and Ed goes as far to telling it like it is as he's allowed to, although he got hammered on the forum for doing so and had to apologise simply for telling the truth, some poor dears can't take criticism. Surely having our play critiqued by better players is of benefit to us all, yes I do include myself in this.
I'm arguing for real analysis on Saturday nights that could improve the viewers game, if that makes me a troll so be it.
I think Trevor Harris is qualified to analyse the play, he would be able to do it, constructive critisism about what the viewers want him to do should be welcomed.
If he reads this thread, he will become aware of what people want, he won't need to be told by his producer or whatever, and then he can change his approach next time.
It's not that he can't do it imo, he just doesn't do it as much as he should.
Also, any news on the lower stakes "cash xx" games which were suggested a few months ago?

Agree with alot of that ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ! I haven't seen or heard anything re the lower stakes "cash xx" games although it was said the suggestion was taken on board. It would be a shame if the lower stakes games were not given a spot/table to feature their play cash 300 style, this and an alternative approach to the analysis would be a plus for sat night IMO.
For those that missed the original thread it was suggested......
Why not have a cash 60 game where the blinds are 15/30 and the min/max buy in is £60, do the same for 25/50, a cash 100. But here's the point, specify that these games are for 15/30 and 25/50 players and that those playing higher are excluded. Replacing the big game (which ljamesl quite rightly describes as a game with no edge for the best players) with these games and inviting the SPT players on the show to comment on hands would I am sure be invaluable to small stakes players. Or open 3 tables, cash 300, cash 150 and cash 60 and show all 3 throughout the night. My thoughts are that by double stacking the 15/30p and the 25/50p tables to create a cash 60 and cash 100 games these will stand out as different, with the players playing deeper the spots/decisions will also be more interesting. Having a member of the SPT in the studio would allow these to be disscussed by players used to these decisions. I would hope a £60 min/max buy in is within the bankroll limit of a good number of 15/30 players, the same goes for 25/50 at a min/max buy in of £100. I hope Sky give it a try and create a game where lower stake players can feature on Saturday nights and those watching can get invaluable advise from SPT members who have moved through these levels.
First up, I agree with Stien in regards to his ideas for cash XX shows. This would be very interesting, especially seeing those at these limits playing nice and deep. A top Min/Max buy in is absolutely essential though. The idea of 'banning' different level people from them is frankly unworkable though. The whole point of table selection is freedom of movement. However a lot of the guys will respect the other limits guys IMO. I know I have a TV tart rep which I am totally unashamed of, however since moving to the 300 game I haven't once sat at the lower limits they show for the first hour. I feel most guys will follow this line.
However I disagree with Stien's criticisms of TH. I personally think Trev is very good analysing the hands when he's the lone analyst, but as a commentator he knows to let in the guests for these shows. He's feeding them into the hands and allowing them to be the primary analyst IMO which is the point of having them there in the first place. Peoples own opinions and tastes I guess, neither is more right than the other.
Never thought i'd find myself in a thread agreeing with Stein..... I feel dirty! lol. Although his wording is a bit harsh. TH is a great guy and yes is a good presenter..... but analyzing situations, especially advanced and aggressive poker situations, is not his forte (imo.) I know presenters have to be a little bit sugar coated as to not offend players too much but i honestly don't think he has the understanding and expertize in todays game to be able to offer good advice.... which should be his aim? Or? Saying that though, who wants the viewers to substantially improve their game? I certainly don't..... hard enough as it is
Your right Cottlad my wording was a bit harsh, I was somewhat disappointed to be faced with the same fare next week but on reflection the clown comment was unnecessary, sorry Trevor.
