My Rebuy high horse......

During today's Management Meeting, which covered, as usual, every nook & cranny of the site, I mentioned (well, had a little moany-woan, actually) that I'd become a big fan of the Friday Night Rebuy Main Event, & it was rather peculiar that it coincided with the Friday Night Rebuy TOTTY - the only TOTTY Rebuy of the week. This, I said, made no sense, we should offer up a £5.50 Rebuy other nights of the week, it would be well-supported.

Cue Sky-Adam, who reminded me that there is a £500 Guaranteed Rebuy every night, at 8.50pm. Whoops.

And in truth, I never even knew it existed. Whoops-er.

And apparently it has an Overlay most nights. Whoops-er-er.

So, basically, I got it right round my neck. Nothing new there, then.

Anyway, the upshot was that I said I'd play it any night I'm online for a while, to see if we can boost numbers. If it fails, fair enough, they'll probably scrap it.

So, tonight, as well as the weekly £11 TOTTY at 8.30pm, I'll be playing the 8.50pm, £5.50, £500 Guaranteed, Rebuy. So I have mixed feelings about any potential overlay.

Hope to see a few of you in it.

And if you don't like Rebuys, or even raked rebuys, fair enough. All the more overlay for me. ;)

    I also thought we should explain better how Rebuys work, tactically, strategically, put something up in the site somewhere.

    Me? I think most of Blandy's article sums it up pretty well, but I'm old & stubborn, & I can only play rebuys my own way.

    Take a Rebuy at the very start, then the Bonus Add-On (50% extra chips) at the first break, & coast to the Final.

    So, having laid my soul bare, it's pretty certain I won't Final tonight.

    I plan to play it tonight, & tomorrow night, & see if I can turn a profit.
     
    There you go, plenty of ammo for you to bash me up good & proper.

    Anyway, I think that as running gags go, that one's nearly reached it's term. Most of us know Alan's view on Sky Poker Rebuys. After all, he may have mentioned it once or twice.

    The £11 TOTTY got 27, so not so bad in the end.

    The 8.50 Rebuy numbers are creeping up, meanwhile.......I think I should say "DO NOT ENTER" more often. GG me.

    I used to play this when it was at 9pm, before the new 9pm and the TSP (which have now swapped) but there are now plenty of other good tourneys here so rarely ge a chance as don' like more than 3 or 4 tables on the go.  with 77 runners it shd go on till 25:00.  I will try and play it tomorrow for a change
