I'd been playing for about an hour and this player had been pretty tight. No all-ins all night, then this happened. He must have had a queen right?

id just jam turn tbh, pretty sure you get called by worse enough to make it profitable.
Check calling to induce a bluff is also fine, but check folding, nah too much invested, you beat lots still.

I call here.  If they have the Q then nh, wp.  You're C-bet on the flop and check on the turn signal AK/AJ to the villain.  They might have the Q, but equally they are jamming with tens, nines, eights and a few other hands.  I just don't think we're deep enough to consider the fold in this spot.

    How about this one?
A bit of info, the opponent is a reg at this level and from what I've seen doesn't get out of line too often.
I'm not really rolled for this level, so that might have had an effect on my decision (I was on the table as it was very early morning and there were only about 100 people seated on the entire site)
Their call on the flop was almost instant, which set alarm bells ringing...
    Comments please...

I'd bet more on the flop, probs 2/3 or 3/4 pot on that board, they are likely to hit/could be drawing.
I'd bet the blank turn, your good here a lot of the time.
I think you put yourself in a difficult situation by checking the turn. I call the river tbh.

Yeah i agree with the flop bet size, I should have gone bigger.

Going back to pre-flop action though, what is in their range? They raise up utg then smooth a 3-bet, that usually smacks of a big hand when it's done by a reg at these levels...

The turn is a blank obviously, if I lead out again (bear in mind they snapped my c-bet on the flop) i'm getting towards being pot committed

I think a lot of PPs are in their range preflop and I think that's where you get value on flop and turn. QTs, JQs, QK are there as well I guess. If he's got a big hand preflop then that's great because you beat all of his big hands except AQ KQ (if you consider them big hands, I don't really tbh.) So I really think you get good value by betting if he's slow playing a strong hand. AK could float.
What do you think of the snap call on the flop? I still think they have a PP tbh! A PP probably wouldn't raise or fold on that flop, so maybe that's why the decision was so quick, because there wasn't one. If you lead out turn and get raised then you can fold.
