Was this just bad play?

edited February 2011 in The Poker Clinic
Hi
I jupmed on this table after watching a few hands. The villains wern,t playing that tight and I felt a bit annoyed with myself that I,d been bluffed off this pot.
I called on the flop as there was still someone to act and was hoping to improve my hand on the turn or if not re-avaluate.
When the bet on the turn came it was bigger than his normal bets and with so many hands beating me and someone else who liked chasing cards to act I reluctantly folded. Should i have shoved?

I,m interested to see how other ppl would have played it

fold flop, only call with 9-10 suited to hit big! you have second pair 10 kicker and you know your going to be facing a much larger bet on the turn forcing you to fold. just get out the way. the turn card is pretty good, gives us a whole heap of outs, but cant call that bet tbf. just fold flop, move on.

Yh fold flop, calling is so bad as your hand is weak and there's someone behind you left to act who could reraise plus you don't actually have a draw (gutshots are not draws)

With your hand you want diamonds or flop a str8 draw here you have neither.

    Cheers guys

i did go to bed after this as i was a bit annoyed at myself for getting bluffed and losing pot and didn,t want to start tilting, but as you said should have folded the flop and just moved on -

I made my notes on these guys and will study them more carefully nxt time I play them
