And the winner is... (***OFFICIAL LIVE SHOW THREAD***)

edited February 2011 in Poker Chat
Here we go again...

Another Sunday night Primo with Hartigan & The G-Man.  The tournament kicks off at 8pm (if you've got a spare £55 in your account, you can register HERE) and the TV show commences at 9pm.

We've got tournament poker...we've got cash poker...and we've got controversially-played poker (in The Poker Clinic).

Meanwhile, the biggest names in the British film industry are gathering at the Royal Opera House for the BAFTAs.  So, tonight's four-hour live show will have a showbiz awards theme...

If there was a prize for Sky Poker Achievement of the Year (there isn't, by the way), who would you nominate and why?

lJAMESl for his triple TSP Classic victory?  DOHHHHHHH for his seemingly endless run of winning cash sessions?  kirdgirlgy for her deep run in the 2010 WSOP main event?  We look forward to reading your suggestions!

Plus, with it being Valentine's Day tomorrow...  Tell us the most romantic thing you've ever done.  See if you can bring a tear to Ed's eye :)

As ever, please post away in this forum thread, or e-mail skyopen@bskyb.com

Hi James and Ed, there can only be 1 winner of the Sky Poker Achievement of the year, it has to be GARYQQQ for his outstanding charity walk in 2010.
Forget about Sky Poker players winning money just think of all the money that this 1 person raised not for himself but for people who really need help.
This great act of kindness stands head and shoulders above anything that anyone on Sky Poker has done.
                                                           Regards  Mick.

    Oh...and a shameless bit of self-promotion...

Tomorrow is Week 2 of the all-new All-Rounders' League.

It isn't too late to join the ARL.  In fact, it's a GREAT week to join, because it's one of the two Omaha events.

All the details you need can be found HERE.

Thanks Chew, I'm touched by what you say and flattered to be nominated, but I don't think my walk can truly be considered to have been a Sky Poker event.

Personally I would like to jointly nominate Sue Norsden (Kidgirlgy) and Redmond Lee (Lolufold) for their sensational runs in the WSOP main event, they had me glued to this forum and Twitter for days.

I have to nominate Reds for his run not only in the WSOP, but the caribbean result. Incredible.

If we're including non-poker achievements, I second Gary for sure.
  • edited February 2011
Unfortunately I'm totally colour blind and can only see in black and white, any chance of borrowing that shirt Ed?
  • edited February 2011
ED - DID YOU BORROW THE CHEST HAIR FROM TREV-HARRIS? I HOPE TRIP5  ( IRENE ) NOT PLAYNG TONITE AS LAST TIME SHE SAW IT, IT PUT HERE OFF HER GAME

I think MickJenns consecuative monthly 220 doublestack wins has to be up there........

I dunno how good TommyD was a year ago, but he's a million times more intimidating to sit down and play against than he used to be, he must get the award for most improved player, (even though he was good before)......

The best achievement though has to be Lucy77777 for leaving, and then returning to the forum on 47 seperate occasions.

    Romance? what's that? - Spread em, I'll be round in 10 ;)

Good fold Tina - teach me plz, I lose 600 chips there!!

    Great show as usual

I would have to nominate either Dan Browns 4th in the GUKPT manchester or James Williams  winning 3 TSP classics on the trot (that he entered) or even Gliterbabe coming from practically a chip and a chair to win the SPT Newcastle, As an aside and not playing related I would nominate LOLUFOLD for his appearances on channel 865 since joining Team SKy Poker, Quality!

Alot of good live results including redmonds WSOP and Dans GUKPT

really appreciate your analysis here guys...

    34139679

On the flop I was scared of the K and didn't like being out of position, so I let him take the lead- I think this is where I should have bet, but my thinking was with his stack size if I bet and he has the K, I'm committed to the hand whatever, which is kind of nasty. When he checks behind I think he probably hasn't got the K, but might well be trapping- so I gave him another check, thinking my queens are now good.

River is a total killer, and I felt like a complete donk for not betting earlier- how would you guys play this hand?

+1  With 200+ runners , what are the odds of winning 3 out of 3?

Edit - I also think Alarm76 deserves a mention for his 19 DYM cashes on the run
