£5.50 mtt, about 40 runners, v ealy stages, no notes.
Normal strategy in these is be patient, and double up within the first hour, then ge aggressive when the blinds are big, and stacks are shallow, when the other guys become clueless as they can't see flops anymore.
However, here I was clueless....
Speculative call pre maybe otb....
Basically, do you call/fold here against an unknown?
I dont think we have trips here, we all know in this type of tourny we only limp with pocket 5's or 6's this early, and his 4 x BB raise this early means a higher pocket pair QQ KK AA and the flop is good for his shove here cause he knows he's ahead.

Personally I think the call on the button with KJs is fine. It's only 6% of your stack, you have postion and it's the sort of hand that might win you a huge pot. If you have to lay it down you still have plenty of chips to work with.
As for the shove, it's a ridiculous bet no matter what your opponent has. Therefore he's probably quite an inexperienced player, you have position on this guy and will get opportunities to stack him later. He could be holding anything from a set of jacks to a straight draw, maybe even air, but you're dominated far too often to justify a call.
I fold, but I'm confident I can outplay this guy and win back my chips with interest.

Fold preflop but as played easy call, like you said double up early
I thought it looked like a big pair also from the initial post. If he is new to MTTs though it may be trips.
Either way I reluctanly fold especially as there is only the J on the flop for us.
