Competition Thread: NBC Heads-up Champs - Pick the Winner! [Winners unveiled!]

Yeah, easy right?

This weekend is the NBC National Heads-up Championship where 64 of the best players in the world play a knockout heads-up tournament to crown a champion. To win one of THREE seats to Tuesday night's Take on Tikay, all you need to do is tell us who you think will win and why! Correct entries will then be judged, with the best reasons giving the three winners their chance to take on Tikay. Winners will be PMed and announced on this thread, as well as on the Sky Poker Facebook page.

Then, once you've done that, get on here and give us a bit of banter on why you've chosen your man (or woman) to win the tourney and then brag shamelessly should you get it right.

I reckon Huckleberry Seed will plant his name onto the NBC heads up trophy, this is because he has recently returned to the roots of his game which was so prominent during the early steams his of his career.

Saw the table of matches, if durr wins his first game he plays either benyamine or hellmuth. really hope for a durr hellmuth rematch.

Well, Erik Seidel. Who'd have thought it? Runner up last year, winner this year. To be fair he's on an epic heater at the moment and he's obviously been working on his game since getting owned in Rounders and some World Series thingummy.

Competition winners to be announced shortly, so watch this space to find out who will be playing in tomorrow night's Take on Tikay.

Right, seems we've got a psychic Moderator amongst our ranks....

Well played SolarCarro for tipping Erik Seidel to win, along with the reason: 

"Runner up last year, also in form as just won the LA High rollers event and the Aussie Millions High Roller event"

The other player who successfully tipped Mr Seidel was Raynez, who I hope did actually put some money on him winning!

"Played so well last year all the way to the final and totally dominated Ms Duke in the final when he came from behind. It was like Annies cards were transparent. I will be putting my money on Erik on giving us a first back to back winner of the National Heads Up Championship."

With only two people prophetic enough to pick out the champ, we're giving the third seat to tomorrow night's Take on Tikay to the ONLY person who thought Chris Moneymaker could win the event. You'd think folks had him written off as a one-hit wonder or something...

Well done Liamp, who used pretty much the best technique out there to choose their man from the monster field:
