    Am I daft for assuming he meant Monday night/Tuesday morning????

    Maybe I am...lol.

    I thought Sunday was a big poker night for high fliy-er-er-er-ers

    Either way, I'm absolutely positive that they could communicate with us better. Someone put a thread up at 11-50pm.......

    They can do better than that.

    Sky_Jordan did post a thread at 12:20 in the afternoon on Sunday but it was posted in the Sky Poker Announcements area.  So much for posting threads in the appropriate area eh?

    Hi Sporny,

    Dont know why the thread was deleted.  Tikay started a thread and a few of the Sky Guys, Sky_Adam in particular, tried to explain the reasons for the outages.

    Hopefully a quick read through the thread will help.

    I agree with you the site down is not good and it is something that Sky are working on to reduce the number of times this has to happen

    Picking up a few questions/comments.

    I did write at length last week about these Scheduled Maintenance Outages, to explain the what & why of them, Sky Adam also Posted on the Thread, which I think Mod-Taff has provided a link to.

    In it, I mentioned that it was probable that there would be a further long outage on Monday (yesterday). I did mean Monday - 2am Monday until 10am Monday, & that was exactly what it was. I'm sorry if this caused confusion.

    I also suggested that it WOULD be confirmed nearer the time. If, as Posted on this thread, it was only Posted on the "Announcements" Board, then that would be an error, & for my part, I apologise. It should have been more prominently Posted, &, possibly, earlier, too. Sorry.

    The three big scheduled maintenance outages I referred to last week have now all concluded, & successfully, too, so that's all good. Unless unforseen stuff intervenes - & no unforseens are forseen......... then the run of big scheduled outages is now done & dusted for a while.

    There remains, however, a Sky Poker "Release", which is a different animal altogether.

    A Sky Poker "release" is when new Sky Poker functionality is installed.

    One of these is imminent - very imminent. It would have happened last week, but the resource could not be arranged whilst the big scheduled outages were in train, as they are all very IT staff intensive.

    That "Release" will be, fingers crosssed, tonight, or tomorrow night - probably. Adam is trying to bring it to that stage right now.

    It WILL be confirmed, if it happens.

    Sky Poker want it to happen, & most of you will welcome the Release when it goes Live, as it will be a big improvement.

    It will be Posted on GPC as soon as it is confirmed when & if it will occur.

    Apologies for this period of annoying (for players AND site) disruption, but there is an absolute determination to keep on improving things here. No pain, no gain, & all that, & a little short term pain is necessary to achieve the long-term gain.

    Again, apologies that Monday's Scheduled Outage was not communicated as well as it may have been. I blame Orford.
