    Probably not.

I'd have 3-bet pre and check raised flop though.

thats a tough call on the end and a pretty sick 3 barrel with 8 high lol

if you don't raise pre you have to c/r that flop, his raise pre and continuation on flop means he should have a big part of it like 90% of the time, and you're likely to get a decent result out of it.

Q is a killer card if he wants to keep betting as played, but if you c/r a decent amount on flop, then you've committed yourself whilst having almost definitely the best hand. If he then happened to have AJ or KJ and hit the gutshot, so be it- it's equally likely he had AQ/KQ/AK and is probably going all the way with 2 pair anyway. In a tourney at this stage, you can even just jam allin on that board, making it look like a semi-bluff, and if he has a good ace/king he'll be very likely to call, leaving you with no further decisions to worry about.

As it turned out you were against a fruitloop making a mental 3 barrel, and if you raise at any point you probably don't get any more, so it turned out ok- I think you're going bust almost every time normally with the betting like this, though.
