Was this just horrible play by me?

Once moly had called my big 3bet pre flop, alarm bells were ringing, and I was convinced he had something huge and wanted the first raiser either in the pot or to come over the top.

No history on villain ( maybe I should have but wasnt really paying attention).

Anyway, I went to pieces and bottled it.  This hand has been bugging me for days.  I am a wimp.

Perosnally i would have called, apart from hitting a queen could you have asked for a better flop? No flush draw and unlikely to have staright draw afetr what went on pre flop.

But saying that everytime I call in a situation like that I loose so what do I know lol I'm sure soem of the btter players will answer shortly but I know i couldnt put it down, would love to know what he had tho

Don't like the check with 2 players left in on flop.

Personally would have put half pot in on the flop, should clear out one guy and I am happy to take it down right there. If villain comes over the top, then you would know how he plays at that time -  fold or re-raise all in.

Given that you checked and then he bet the pot, depends how I feel about him. It's all in or fold then no other choice for me. So don't mind your fold at all.

Yeah, i think checking there was a mistake.  However even half pot bet i wouldve started to feel commited to put the rest of my stack in.  If I was heads up with this guy, I may have played it different.  Also, I thought it was another show of huge strength to be betting there with another player left to act.  Even if it was only half pot be, he was playing for stacks due to the pot size. Must admit , this hand really did my head in lol

Depends how deep you are IMO. But if I have to answer then my action is to shove all in. Doesn't make sense for him to bet the pot if he has a hand that he doesn't need to defend.

Looks like 88-A/10 sort of hand and he is trying to defend/semi-bluff.

No way would he bet that with KK or AA as it's too likely you have nothing and will fold/he won't get paid. Not even a flush draw on there.

More I think about it the more obvious a call is IMO.

From your introduction it seems clear that you realise you shouldnt be folding there. Loads of dodgy play at this level, you've 3 bet oop so you should be continuing on this flop. You are basically playing way too paranoid it seems like you decided that utg had u beat because he called pre flop, if he has KK/AA and hes slow played it and the flop has come T high and u have QQ then its tough luck.

    on the flop

This is how i see it,

when they both call u pre flop, i think you should assume that you have the best starting hand. I would like to think that one of them would have shown real strength and reraised you pre if they had a made hand.

The guy i would be the most wary of is candid who showed initial strength.

If molineau had limped in early position with a monster to gain leverage, he would just reshove pre and then you could get away.

Once you checked the flop, you have already given up the hand with no information to why your folding?

I would guess at candid having a hand like aq, or 88 but would think molineau hit top pair with a10 sooted or a pretty looking hand like that. I dont know the standard of play at that level, but i cant see him making that bet with a set, so id insta shove over the top, and would be very surprised to see a hand inferior  to mine.

If it turns out hes limped with aces or kings, your just unlucky, because the majority of the time i feel u have the best of it.

yeah, looks like i was a wuss here lol.  I think there must be some similar situatins that have happened in the past and lodged in my subconcious mind where I have stacked off to the overpair.

I agree theyre not betting a set like that, but not sure he`d have taken a flop at that price with AT but who knows.

If he had KK/AA I think there is a lot more chance its AA, as KK would have more likely pushed pre after my raise.

Anyway, Ive put it on a play my hand request but no-ones got back to me as yet.  Prob for the best coz I will look a fool on tv lol
