Remember, each player is assessed on his/her two best NLHE results and his/her best PLO result.  The final event is the Hi-Lo tournament:

Monday 14th March
19:30  £10+£1  Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo
(2,500 chips / 12 min blinds)

So, FOUR players are in contention for the title of 2011 ARL Champion: tempusfuge (currently sitting proudly at the top of the leaderboard), Direwolf, SoLack and angie55.  Guy, Paul and Angie will need a strong finish in the Hi-Lo event, or Graham ships the SPT seat.

Of course, there are prizes for the runners-up: Primo entry for second, Bounty Hunter entry for third; TSP Classic entry for fourth; and Take on Tikay entry for fifth.  Plus, everyone who finishes above me on the leaderboard will receive a live shout out on channel 865!

The Hi-Lo tournament should be a lot of fun.  And, if you're a newbie to this variant of poker, it's a great introduction to the game.  So, whether you're an ARL contender or not, please give it a go.  You can register HERE.

Thanks James. Don't jinx me or anything.
Gl to everyone and see you on Monday night.

P.s. Are you sure there's no trophy James? I've got plenty of space on the mantelpiece.

My apologies as have been sent away with work with no Internet connection so have to miss the last one and the one I consider my best variant.

Was out of the running with a bad deepstack result but thoroughly enjoyed this league and craving more.....

    more please Mr Hartigan!

Well, it seems my vocal chords have gone the way of GREGHOGG's wrist...

Excessive use means they've ceased to function - and I'm currently unable to speak!

But tonight, it'll be my fingers doing the talking ;-)

In addition to playing the 19:30 ARL tournament, I'll be at the low stakes Omaha cash tables and might also enter the TSP Classic at 21:00.

    Can we get 35 runners?

  • edited March 2011
So, here we go...with a field of 40 players.  That's not a bad turnout for a PLO8 tournament!

    Good luck everyone :)

  • edited March 2011
Three early casualties, but the four "contenders" are still in...

  • edited March 2011
Wow!  In quick succession, we've lost angie55, tempusfuge and Direwolf...

This means Angie and Guy CAN'T win the ARL.  They may, however, make the top five - and collect one of the runner's up prizes.  And they're both guaranteed a "shout out" from me on channel 865 :)

Now, only SoLack represents a threat to tempusfuge's claim to the title and the all-important SPT seat!

  • edited March 2011
    We're at the first break...

25 players remain.  And, somehow, I've luckboxed my way to the chiplead!  Currently sitting on a stack of 7,235.

SoLack is one of the shorter stacks (with 1,910).  if he makes the final table, he wins the league.

  • edited March 2011
    By the way...

Whether I'm in it, or not, I'm going to follow this tournament through to its conclusion, so won't be playing tonight's TSP Classic.

  • edited March 2011
I've just eliminated SoLack in 12th place, meaning...

tempusfuge has won the 2011 All-Rounders' League!

Well done, Graham - you'll be going to the Sky Poker Tour event of your choice.

Once this tournament is over, MereNovice will publish the final version of the league table and we'll see who's claimed those 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place prizes.

  • edited March 2011
Well, we've reached the second break...

    I'm 8th of 11 players - with a (short) stack of 4,225.

Time to gamble it up :)

  • edited March 2011
Finished 5th for £36 - and an improved position in the ARL rankings.

    Crucially, I beat Tikay.  Yes!

  • edited March 2011
Meanwhile, as the final table continues, I've opened a new PLO cash table...

    Purfleet - 10p/20p.

  • edited March 2011
Thanks for the leaguee James and vwd to Graham. I cdnt chat on table as had the three DTD games and ME on the go.  Maybe I shda concentrated on this.

OK, let's formally announce who's won what...

tempusfuge is the champion - and gets free entry into the Sky Poker Tour event of his choice.

SoLack was a worthy runner-up.  Paul, you get free entry into Sunday's Primo.

RAB642 came third.  He receives free entry into Thursday's Bounty Hunter.

Now, we have two players with the same score, so we apply the tie-breaker rule.  The player with the single best tournament result (1st in the PLO event in week 2) is...

goodylad21.  And, for his fourth place finish, he gets free entry into a TSP Classic tournament.

And finally, Kiwini4U will get a free Take on Tikay entry for coming fifth.

    Well done, guys!

All of the above will receive "shout outs" on channel 865, along with the other players who finished above me in the final league table: angie55, SHANXTA, Direwolf, darich, GELDY and TheDart.

Those "shout outs" will be dispensed on Thursday's live show :)

I'm forwarding the list of winners to the marketing team.  Please keep an eye on your PMs - and let me know if you haven't heard anything by Thursday afternoon.

A big thank you to everyone who played in the ARL.  I hope you all agree it was a lot of fun.

My thanks once again to Richard Milner and Tikay for coming up with the original concept, Adam Harmer and Jack Wilcock for building and promoting the tournaments and MereNovice for keeping score!

Hopefully, we can do something similar on Monday nights in the near future.  Did someone say OmaHartigan League II...?
