conflicked?? go with head or gut feeling!! PART TWO

edited March 2011 in The Poker Clinic
Less than 10% of your stack to call.

Left with 30 BB's if you call and then fold flop.

Potential to win big, big pot.

I call.

Instant call. These are the situations you're looking for in a MTT. You will never win a MTT by folding in these spots (and mathematically it's wrong to do so anyway: you're likely to double up if you hit your set, maybe treble up, so are getting 12/1 at least for your 750).

If they have both tiny stacks of, say, 2000 chips, then you should probably fold. But the situation as described is clear (in a live game you may have a tell that the BB will re-raise, so that's potentially different).

Tricky, am not sure tbh, if you play hindsight poker on the flop you'll always be kicking yourself.

I'm probably leaning towards folding.  Your getting around 3/1 on your money against two guys stacks who crush you, plus your totally out of position.  Much of the time your left having to check fold your hand for 10% of your stack.  For me it would likely depend on how the raiser and caller are playing.  If I feel I'll see checks I probably call, if they are always going to bet I probably save to 10% or so for a better spot....maybe :)
