i think you know what you have done wrong here. Your pre-flop play is fine, however after that is where it all went wrong. You flop your set fantastic but its still a very dangerous flop, straight and flush draws. you really need to be betting strong here to get an idea as to what your opponent is holding, however you let him take controle from this point. The turn is one of those danger cards and instead raising to see where you are again you check and your opponent gains yet another free card the Q (another danger card) the villain bets big and im sure you sigh as you call.

someone in this community that i respect as a player told me :- 'if you give cards away freely or cheaply don't be surprised if they hit'

im a better player with that ringing in my head now.

As soon as the bet came in I knew what the opponent had, and whilst it didn't end my tourney, it had a huge effect both mentally and in terms of the next few hands

You flop the 2nd nuts and its always tempting to trap.  Its just never wise though, if your opponent has something to call with he'll call, if he doesnt he'll fold.  Plus the lead out disguises the true strength of your hand, maybe inducing a raise or float.  Just nothing worse than being beatan on the river by a hand that couldnt call you on the flop though.

Dont forget you went to the river as a 92% favourite though.
