Question for Neil: when he (mistakenly) announced on budget day there could be a 15% tax coming in on gambling winnings how many panicked messages from poker players did he get?
Hi guys, can't wait for the show tonight as Neil has been one of my favourite players since The Big Game III where his laid back dry sense of humour made for very entertaining viewing.
In The Big Game III, Neil was making some big over bets with air and generally playing pretty loose but in games that i've watched him on since then he has played a much tighter style of play.
My question is if Neil has changed from a maniac to a nit, what was the thinking behind it and has it improved his results?
Also, in The Big Game IV, Neil came up against the wild and crazy play of Viffer who pretty much owned the table.
Does Neil like or dislike playing against this sort of player who can have any two cards and will be making lots of raises, and how would he recommend playing against this style?
Does wearing a Judo suit chafe if your sitting down for a long session of poker ? I ask this as I'm currently doing jujitsu down my local leisure centre and I want to go straight to the casino to play in one of the cash games.
1) Are you going to be playing a tourney on sky like other guests have done? 2) When you have played your long cash games how do you keep with it so to speak? do you drink alot of energy drinks to get you through it, also how do you prepare your mindset for the long grind?
Hi folks Q for Neil As poker players tend to be mad as a bag of frogs at the best of times doing things like dying their hair blonde for promotion purposes "TK" , to wearing judo suits . What's the best prop bet you have seen & and has anyone ever said NO that's to mad ? Details please .

That was a brilliant game and included that hand - Viffer's set of 8s vs Neil's set of 4s - Neil opted to run it once and spiked the last 4, much to the annoyance of Viffer. MBN.
Have a great show tonight. Really looking forward to it :-)
Hi guys, have a marvellous show (had to get that word in for Neil).
I read a great article on Neil that stated he didn't take up the offers to appear on any TV poker events for a while in the early days. The article eluded to it helping Neil to stay under the radar of alot of players he was facing in tournaments/cash games.
If this was true, did it help in anyway and do you think it's harder to play against players once they know of you and what you're capable of ?
My question for Neil would be which members of TSP impress him the most ( rich excluded obviously) and which event in his opinion is his best chance of a bracelet at this years (or a future year) WSOP? Whats his favourite poker venue/story and indeed what does he like best about SkyPoker.
In Response to Re: Thursday Night Live with Rich, Tikay and Neil Channing ****official show thread**** : That was a brilliant game and included that hand - Viffer's set of 8s vs Neil's set of 4s - Neil opted to run it once and spiked the last 4, much to the annoyance of Viffer. Posted by NoseyBonk
could you plz explain what a triple range merge is. TK tried the other night but its a bit over his head so glad to have a poker expert on who can educate us all on such a basic concept. ty
As a poker novice/newcomer (like Richard) I'm a bit confused as to wether BADBEAT means a cooler (as in badbeat jackpots) or outdraw, could Neil please explain.................also how did he acquire the name "bad beat", what is the worst bad beat he's been a victim of, the worst bad beat he's inflicted on an opponent and which player would he most like to inflict a bad-beat on.
also, any time Neil wishes to join TKP he must apply to skippydippylippynippytrippyballs5
question. Neil what techniques do you use to stay calm in a tourny when you have done all the correct abc of poker but some idiot calls you down with a bad starting hand?
Looking forward to hearing Mr Channing's opions, hopefully he will be commenting on my final table play.
Quick question for him.
As a recreational player who is a very modest winner at nl30 I find the prospect of winning a decent MTT as very appealing. Despite trying on numerous occassions I seem to struggle to take my winning cash game play on to the MTT tables and was after one piece of advice as to what makes the difference between a winning cash player and a winning MTT player.
My question for neil is after seeing james akenhead winning a poker after dark episode ,have you ever been offered a chance to go on that show or other american poker shows like that? If you have been offered the chance and said no, why? Cheers Dave.
Hand History #355058029 Only real question here is, how much does the 'free' bounty at stake figure into calculations here? Making the bet preflop, I know I'm looking like I'm trying to steal the bounty, so should I make it more to try harder to isolate, with intention to call a shove, knowing people are playing much lighter? On the flop, with a decent redraw, I was happy to get the stack in again with the knowledge that people will suspect me of trying to steal the bounty- was calling off a little loose here? I think without the bounty at stake I'm much less inclined to play this as aggressively, so is factoring that bounty in a mistake? Loving the show and analysis from Neil, question for you- do you actually practice Judo or is it just a gimmick, and why did you do it for the first time (I'm sure you've been asked this like oh, a million times, sorry!)
did neil get the shirt he`s wairing out off ed giddens wardrobe and if so it`s probs one off richorfords shirts, is he going to keep it or give back to rich ???

1) Who is the worst player you have ever staked?
2) Out of 10, how much do you enjoy wearing the Karate outfit when you play for Black Belt? (pls be wearing it now)
Cheers,

My question for Channers is this....
Which has made you more money...
1) Winning at poker
2) Running your own poker skin
3) Staking others that have won you money at poker
Also, which of the three brings you the most satisfaction!!
xx
1) Keeping fit is obviously an inherent part of being a black belt in the arts do you keep fit, if so does this add anything to your poker?
2) Have you ever thought of giving up poker if so when and why?
3) What are your poker goals for 2011? (if not already asked)

is there a room in the show for a specific question about judo outfits or will this topic be covered in an emporer's new clothing thread on the forum?
