Was I stupid to fold this?

The more I look at this hand the more I think I should have called. But maybe that's because ater this hand my tournament went downhill fast. I'm thinking my mistake was the call on the turn... or was it the fold on the river? I'm not sure.

I think folding's fine there. Call on turn is reasonable with your odds, and it shows you won't be pushed off a hand at the first sight of a raise- he's representing the flush but it's worth seeing if he has the balls to barrel big again on river... he did, and it's worth getting away quietly at that point IMO. 

Board is draw heavy on flop though, every chance at least one player has a big part of that- you gave him the odds to hit his flush by betting half pot, at least 3/4 there would be better- could induce a semi-bluff reraise at which point you can ship it in and leave it in the hands of the poker gods, knowing you have the stone cold nuts at that point. 

Definitely think he hit the flush, everything he's done points towards it.

It's what makes tight play so frustrating. You wait ages for a hand. You hit. But then you have to fold. I was out about 6 hands later. I need to learn to not let these thigns get to me lol

Priced him in on the flop. Bet at least 3/4 pot here and take the odds away then if he calls that then so be it, its a bad call from him over time if he does.

Its a good fold. Unlucky really but it could possibly be sorted on the flop with the betsizing. Frustrating? yes!

Hi I remember this hand well and it's really interesting to see what you had ExLeper. I've had a look through the tournament history my cards were Ad 10h, I thought it would be a good spot to represent the flush as I'd played it like a couple of low spades. Maybe a bit of fault on my part as I should've raised pre, the reason I didn't was the crazy guy who also limped in on the button - I didn't want to play inflated pots out of position against him.

Finished up 2nd in the tourny for a decent result, looking forward to playing it again later, hopefully see you there.

By the crazy guy you mean SMUDGDR09. I noticed that every time he lost a hand his next hand would be all-in pre no matter what. He's the guy who knocked me out. I shoved on him and this time he actually had something: trip 8s. Nothing more frustrating than playing right and getting no return for it! Grrrrr...

And well done coming second. Crazy bluff... you'd be screwed if I shoved on the river lol. But alas...

ExLeper i have been there done that and it is so frustrating when faced with the bet on the river.I used to get myself in the same situation regularly when i hit the nuts on the flop.To be fair to your opponent he played it well on the river and i can understand why you folded,i used to fold  in the same situation.


I will echo what the guys have said,instead of betting half the pot on the flop i now put in at least a 3/4 pot bet and if anyone wants to come along then that is fine because longterm your opponent is making a bad decision
