edited April 2011 in The Sky Poker Tour

Will there still be around the 150 - 170 playing in this though?

FAO SPT rich etc. i won one of the free seats via the tips competition a few weeks back. will i be entered into the lobby for spt leeds or is it just a case of turning up on the day and ill be pre registered in but wont show up in the lobby in the tournaments section?

100 satellite seats at outset yes. This may be increased later depending on guest/competition winner allocations

Hurst, yes. If you've won a seat you'll be on my list before the event, but not as part of the 100 in the Online lobby

I seem to recall a thread about less than 125 seats earlier this year.  With the intro of Priority Club and the TSP players "internal" non satellite entries would increase, and I do not have a problem with this.  The tone at that time appeared to suggest that the satellite numbers would not reduce.  But here we are down by 25.  I, for one, am disappointed to see this and hope that it does not impact on the many regulars who love to attend these superb events.  As it happens I can't make Leeds, but I hope it is just as good as always.

    Please don't jump the gun

It is an initial 100 seats

    Why?

Because unlike some other venues the capacity at Leeds is 150 max. I cannot risk overselling.

If, as is most likely, the rest of the seats are not taken up with guests then the satellite figure will increase

Just being prudent, given the final numbers for guests cannot be given with certainty at this stage

    I am therefore prepared

OK Rich, gun back in holster!  Thanks for explanation, looks like a one off if places do drop below 125.

this is not a place for inappropriate behavior. And you definitely don't pull a hypothetical gun on your poker tour manager!

Well if he hadn't picked just about the worst venue in Leeds, we'd be able to have 175+ and no squeezing into the corners!

Please can you confirm the Friday night tourney...rumour has it that it's a rebuy :o(

Very constructive. The Alea is not interested in third party tournaments and certainly would not want to handle 150+, and the Gala will not disturb its regular schedule

Granted at the time of booking it was suggested that the casino would be refurbed by now (that is still on the way with the card-room moving upstairs) but there is nothing to suggest the venue won't do a decent job

it is an old Style Grosvenor casino. I am sure the place will be as undumpy as possible for when we arrive. Thanks for the constructive comments.

guys, lets just see what happens when we get there..........it cant be any worse than glasgow??? SPT puts alot of hard effort and negotiation into arranging the Tour, maybe we should cut a little slack.................................

Although, Im the first to admit, i dont agree 100% with decisions, but have to accept them...

Even though, i thoroughly enjoyed the Newcastle leg, and its probably the closest to me now the SPT doesnt do Scotland, I dont want to return there, mainly for all the NPF arguments caused

Anyway, good luck to all that attend Leeds, and more importantly, ENJOY IT EVERYONE!!!!!

Thanks for that Anne Marie.  Bad planning on my part, I will be on holiday.  And yes I hope to be at the next one.  Good luck to the "Rochdale Cowboys" and everybody else.

hi guys, how many satellites for the leeds leg are left ?

  • edited April 2011
52 places filled, so at 8 or 9 per night, probably another week of semis (roughly).

Look forward to seeing everyone there, including my TKP friends, of course.
  • edited April 2011
Got my place last night. Bubble places took about 45 minutes of time-bar crawling turgidness.

Got me a shoe-horn, so I ought to be able to get into my seat! Please take de-odourant - it's gonna be personal.

No need for that sort of comment really. The restaurant area is being converted into table space for the day. Nice to see you are going into it with an open mind....

Rich, don't take things to heart so!

I will enjoy the day regardless. However, I'd love to see the SPT in Leeds year after year (it's me local event, dontyaknow), and the Alea (hosted Poker3) would be (and is) a better venue. I'd hate to think of people coming up here, and it being Swansea all over again.

I hope you're right, and the whole thing goes swimmingly. Will still buy you a beer!

Dan, Kick-off is at 2pm. I'd turn up before to enjoy some of the atmosphere - but the hour before does drag with nerves! There will be full details posted in this forum in the week or so before the event.

Mr SPT posts a player briefing thread a few days before the event giving all the details needed.

Here is the one for the last SPT at Luton as an example.

Yeah SPT posts joining details usually on the Monday preceding the event

2pm start 5k starting stack 30 min levels, usual bring photo ID if you are not already a Grosvenor member.

Plenty will be there Friday night as well, SPT events tend to be all weekend!!
