edited April 2011 in The Poker Clinic
Hi all intrested on any thoughts . is there somthing im doing wrong here .the hand in question was sit and go been pretty tight game so far.i picked up pretty looking hand and decided to have a punt .apart from check on turn im selling decent hand throughout . I dint think villian had much so put in half pot bet on end only to get called by bottom pair. floating oop with Q high isnt the best thing ever to do, but the line you take after the flop is consistant with TP & there are no real draws on the flop so villains call is probably bad in the long term

well when we have top pair were gonna c/c flop  most the time
were also gonna check the turn
and bet the river when villain doesnt 2barrel

i might bet river smaller but im sure that doesnt matter much

I prefer leaving most of the fancy stuff in the locker in SnGs (Is this a standard STT or a DYM?) and therefore would have preferred a small check raise on the flop to take it down then (or a straight fold).  Your line isn't bad, looks like JTs, T9s etc.  The villain got curious and clicked call on the end.

FWIW when the board pairs the middle/bottom card on turn or river it really hurts your EV for floating IMO.
