Leeds - questions for newbies

Hi All,

Qualified for SPT Leeds last night.  Have some numpty questions that perhaps other first-timers to an SPT may have so... here goes...

1) Do I need to provide any ID, be a Gala member to rock up on the Saturday?

2) I don't know many people, have had chat with quite a few people in chat and on t'forum, but am worried it's going to be a serious affair?  TKP look like a really good (slightly insane) bunch - does anyone fancy meeting for a drink?

3) Is turning up and playing the venue tournament on the Friday a good idea?

4) Do I need a hoody?

5) Best 3 pieces of advice from SPT regs?

    1) It's Grosvenor Leeds and yes you will need photo ID if visiting for the first time

    2) It's very friendly, no need to worry.

    3) Not a bad idea no. Get to meet people, hang out

    4) No, most certainly not!

    5) a) Enjoy yourself b) Enjoy yourself and c) if you aren't sure ask a member of Sky staff on the day. Everyone on the Sky end is there to ensure all players have a good day.

     ALL SO FRIENDLY ,NOT SERIOUS AT ALL,PEOPLE OFFERING TO BUY YOU DRINKS ,EVEN BEFORE THE START.
    GREAT BANTER ,MOST ON THE BEER ALL DAY.

    Im in the same boat as you dtm... Qualified via the £5.20 satellite and this will also b my first SPT so am very excited allthough not really sure what to expect!

    I also havnt played to much live so wats the plan the night before the event on Saturday?

    Also is it just a matter of turning up and meeting everyone at the casino? Im not familiar with to many players on the site either so dont really know alot of people.

    Really looking forward to it as it was one of my goals to qualify for a SPT this year so im chuffed as beans! :D

    The only thing im not looking forward to is the long old drive up north but its all part of the experience!

    Nice one! Was one of my goals, that and winning something (not done that yet).

    I work in Leeds, so will be heading there after I escape from the office.  Keevil, if you want to meet up for a beer or something either on the Friday or the Sat - drop us a message and I can give you my number.

    Hope the drive isn't too much of a 'mare

    Alright mate, I've fired you my mobile number via private message, give us a shout when you're up North. Most hotels are near the station/Wellington Street, as is my work and it's a 10 min walk to the cas from there.

    Hey Dan

    TKP here again, daft as brushes!!

    I play in Leeds every other Friday at Alea, nice cheap £20 freezeout so feel free to come along sometime, starts at 8pm, a few other Sky players often play there too! PM me sometime if you can make it
