I like the overbet in this situation.

As the stacks are really deep, an overbet doesn't have to be an all in shove, you can bet 1.8k or something to give yourself a better chance of getting called by weaker flushes. Ax Kx flushes should be looking to get it in anyway so they will raise.

I thought flushes never hit on sky?

i think you can check/raise or bet smaller on the end, i think if they have a flush they will raise or value bet the river, i think i would bet 400ish looking to get called by a king and raised by a flush, by jamming i reckon we lose value to 1 and 2 pair hands but i would be pretty sick if i bet 400 and was flatted by q flush, what do you think?

Viewed from that perspective, any chips you made were a "brucie!"

you really have to be pushing after the flop here, you have such a good draw that i think you should be looking at getting people to put some money in the pot, A plus side to doing this is that if they fold you have won without hitting and if they call flop and the turn its harder for you opponents to see that you've only hit on the river.

I personally would have bet the flop. Firstly it would give you a chance to win the hand outright after the flop. It secondly would help to increase the pot and increase pot odds for others should you hit the flush/straight/straight flush.

When the 5s hits the turn either continue to bet it to make it appear like your playing a strong K (ie. KJ, KQ) or slow down a little possibly check call any bet.

Then as you hit the magic card on the river an all in bet looks not as heavy handed as seen with the 9x pot all in bet.

On the other hand thought a win is a win

hi all thanks for ure comments, much appreciated , loooking back on it now, I think I should have not shoved the river but taken DOHHHS advice and probably jammed in 1 third of stack or like he said 1500-1800.

to be fair I only underbet the intial flop bet because I was trying to induce a raise which I then got ,Then i got it into my weird head he was going to have ak diamonds for some unknown reason...

If I bet pot on river like someone said I am only getting flatted by 10/j/q/k flush .If someone has the ace flush they would be payign me off on the river massively.

And to be honest although nothing was gained from this pot in my view ,Thats how I would like to get the maximum out of a hand.,He could of course thought it was a massive overbet bluff and paid me off with the straight u never know in this game.

To be honest when this hand came in and pomfrtittes raised me on the turn ,I flat called not hitting my special card and at that time precisely I was either putting him on a made hand like a flush draw or 2 pair. Thats the only reason I loaded off on on the river!,.....

9 10 is a great hand to be calling with then expessially suited. Soo many draws.

In fact alot of players possibly 3 bet there.

9/10 im calling those pre-flop, to a raise and a call i dont have no issue ,If it was a raise and a re-raise I might serve better judegment on the hand and go to fold.

Think the_don is correct in what he says although I wouldnt 3 bet in that position anyway ,even if it was suited or not.

Just wanna know now what pomfrittes had when he raised lol!! gl
