cash for points?

edited April 2011 in Poker Chat

It says that cash for points for sng's is 10 points per $1 fee, but what happens if the the fee is less.

For instance, is a £2.25 sng worth 2.5 points (or 4 worth 10 points)?

Assuming they are, can someone just look over my figures and see if they are right please?

1000 points is worth £15 to me

£2.25 game x 4 = £8 + £1 = 10 points

x 40 = £80 + £10 = 100 points
x 400 = £800 + £80 = 1000 points
400 games = 16 games x 25 days

£800 + £80 = £880 outlay for £15 bonus

In addition, I can have all the tables on top of each other on one side of the screen and play my usual games on the other side.

I have a (very) small sample of 12 games for a £5 profit (£1 and £2 games).  However, I was just testing the water.  The games I cashed in were standard but the ones I didn't were because I had so many tables open I wasn't giving enough attention and got blinded out, lesson learnt!
I am not for one second saying I could make a profit, but if I was to break even (in rake), would the above calcs give me the bonus as profit.

    £5.50 x 2 = £10 + £1 = 10 points
    x 20 = £100 + £10
    x 200 = £1000 + £100 = 1000 points

    £1.15 x 20  = £20 + £3.00 = 30 points
    x 200 = £200 + £30 = 300 points
    1000 points = 200 + 200 + 200 + 100
    = £700 + £105 = £805 buyins

£1.15 buyin takes 700 games for a £805 risk (total outlay not including winnings)
£2.25 buyin takes 400 games for £880 risk
£5.50 buyin takes 200 games for £1100 risk

Seems the higher the rake, the less the risk.  This is outweighed by the fact that the lower buyins take a lot longer to clear.

    Thoughts?

    dym games
    £1.15 = 2 points
    £2.25 = 3 points
    £3.30 = 3 points
    £5.50 = 5 points
    £11 = 10 points
    £22 = 20 points
    £33 = 30 points
    £55 = 50 points
    £110 = 100 points

    russian roulette
    £1.10 = 2 points
    £2.20 = 3 points
    and so on

    so 4 x 2.25 game is £8 + 1 = 12 points
so 400 would give you 1200points

the min outlay for the 1000 points is £300 that the lowest stake to risk in stt

    hope this helps

How do you get to the £300 outlay please

It is DYM's I am playing yes, I didnt realise there were extra points on offer at lower stakes.  That makes it even more attractive as a short term thing

    £22 would take 50 games risk £1100

Whilst you're on the subject............is the c4p automatically paid into your account or do you have to apply for it each month ( I don't think I have been automatically paid b4 but that could be that I have never achieved the min target for the month).
Ps;..... If my memory serves me right I did register for them 15 months ago by entering the code 'points' in the free stuff section of my account, I think that's correct.
Also, if they pay out automatically, are you informed of the fact that the bonus has been paid into your account ?

It gets paid in automatically, usually by the 5th of the month

i dont think you get notified

Might be better off just 250-499 points if you can take down the £1000 freeroll lol.

belsibub that had occured to me actually and think it is a nice back up.
I might do that one month if i cant play much and am not gonna get to the 1000 points.

I am playing non-stop atm cause of half term, have made up 1000 points so far, with these dym's if i decide to do it, i could get up to 3000 which is more than I ever managed.  its also a 20% boost to my working BR, hence it is worth doing if possible

From what I saw on ch. 865 last week I'm pretty certain that £1000 tournament is open to everyone and the buy-in is only £1.10.

    Cash for Points
We've added a new level to Cash for Points. If you earn 250-499 Poker Points in a month, you'll get free entry to a £1,000 guaranteed tournament. If you're not already in Cash for Points, all you need to do is enter the code 'POINTS'. You can then start earning regular monthly bonuses for your play. Bonuses are unlimited and you earn as you play, what could be simpler!
  • edited April 2011

you do get free entry to this if you get 250-499 points, but its not an exclusive freeroll, you can buy into it for £1.10.
