Hi everyone first time poster looking for advice.
Ive been playing on sky poker around 2 years now mainly cash mostly 5p/10p and 10p/20p levels occasionally moving up but quickly moving back i feel i have a good understanding of the game and can hold my own at these levels.
I'm off to Las Vegas for a week in May and would like to play a little poker. I have never played live before and have never been to Vegas before. I'm hoping that some of you good people would give me some advice about the best card rooms for someone of my level. I am not really interested in tournaments as they tend to last too long and would rather sit at a smallish stakes cash table for a couple of hours here and there. I am taking around $1000 stake money and need to know where i can get the best value for this and also do you pay to sit or is there a rake and what is the usual etiquette for tipping dealer etc. Thanks guys any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am going in May as well, for 5 days, will be my 3rd time.
Firstly visit AllVegasPoker.com - will tell you all you need to know.
I will play mainly tournaments, the deepstack at Aria, 7pm Caesars tournament and Event 2 of Binions Classic are on my radar.
I have had success at cash in Aria, Harrahs and MGM Grand, also Excalibur is very soft.
I got eaten alive at Treasure Island and Mirage
O'Sheas is great fun but not too serious, stick to $1/$2 NLHE
You pay rake in each flopped hand 5% up to $10 max
Tip the dealer $1 chip if he wins you a big pot with a great river card or if he deals u a beauty!!
More importantly tip the waitress and she will bring you free drinks more often! Mine's a Vodka Red Bull!
