Of all the un-random happenings, which one is rigged for action the most frequently?

edited May 2011 in Area 51

I will post first, and explain my choice.

1 over, and 1 undercard to my opponents hand, and I always feel like an underdog.

For example If I have Ace ten, and he has KQ, I'm already resigned to losing the hand, I lose at least 65% of these, which is much further away from the norm than any of the other scenarios.

    Most frequent bad beat????

Not in terms of quantity, but the bad beat that happens to you much more than it actually should.

For example if you lose all in pre flop with AA v 22 30% of the time, this is too much.

But if you lose to a 1 outer on the river 20% of the time, this might be less frequent, but in terms of probability, it's much more outragious, and obviously more rigged.

I will go through the options here, as there wont be enough room on the poll to explain the scenarios properly.

I'm looking for a conclusive sample size, to draw accurate conclusions, I think 20 replies should be enough, anymore would be overkill.

    Scenario 1

Overpair v Underpair, all in pre flop - We should lose around 22% of the time.

    Scenario 2

2 overcards v 2 undercards, unsuited. - I'm guessing we should lose this around 34% of the time. No need to be accurate.

    Scenario 3

An over, and an inbetween, For example my A7 off v his K 4 off. - We shud lose this around 36% of the time.

    Scenario 4

Overpair v 2 random undercards. for example 99 v 86o. - We shud lose this around 15% of the time

    Scenario 5

    1 over and 1 under. -  For example A2o v 86o - We should lose this a whopping 45% of the time.

    Scenario 6

The flip! Pair v 2 over cards. - We should lose flips about 50% of the time!

Where are you looking for this to go?

You say you are looking for a conclusive sample size - but based on what? Memory and perception?

the one that seems to get me more than it should, is the 2 pair off the flop, i KNOW i lose more than i win of these, normally they hit set on flop too! had to allins yest ppvpp ahead on both, lost both, but i normally run good so cant complain, just a tad annoying!

Yes, memory and perception is fine.

This whole area of the forum is based on what people percieve, as we don't have stats to prove anything.

If you feel like you lose 90% of coin flips, say so!

    It's gurddddd enough for me!

I always lose when the hand number ends in a 6

OK but you'd get more results with an ''all of the above'' button  :o)

Nah however bad all the things r, 1 is always gonna be worse than the others!!!!

I could use loads of examples....but I'm not drunk enough.

Maybe I am useless at hitting doubles in darts, but I can hit double 7 once every 100 shots, whereas all the others it takes me 200 shots.

That wud therefore be the answer!

If you can't answer the poll then maybe it's just a fuss about nothing, as all would be in order!

For me its the over pair v the 2 under cards i seem to lose these more the 15% of the time altough for me when im in with say ace 4 versus j q, i seem to win most of these but usually whn i have more chips then the opponent.
  • edited May 2011
I voted the same as you Dohhhhhh but I gotta add being dealt k-k and an ace comes on the flop.

I couldn't really say which above any other but going by my 10 minutes in the BH tonight any of these could apply.

Of the 12 hands played the following happened to either me or another player.

    52 beat 44 with a straight vs a set of 4's

75 beat AA with a straight

85 beat AA with a straight (same guy)

AT flopped A8A and lost all in to a 66 call who then hit 6 on river.

AdTd lost to KK  (Flop was Kd3dTs  Turn Th and  River 4d)

Some nice action there.  I was put out by the AA vs 85 and the last hand. These were the only hands that went to the river btw.

5 out of 12 that's action for ya!

I logged on late (at 5 past) and these are all I saw. Still 10 minutes and 2 players eliminated is some going.

Of those 12 hands I had the set of 4's, the AA vs 85 and the trip Aces on the flop. I also had KK in the BB and they all folded.

i think there should be another option because i allways seem to lose same top card, higher 2nd card AK vs AJ eg. Out of the options im the same 1 over and one under then i do tend to sigh before a card is drew.

Just lost a very nice one.

A8 vs A7  flop A8x  he hit the runner runner flush LOL

edit:  AA just lost to 66 - is this variance?

..... and my 6x pf raise with AKs had 2 callers KJs and 85os  - Guess who hit 2 pair?
  • edited May 2011

lol..most rigged......is when you go in ahead...on flop....90%+ and lose to runner runner..

    :)

I could fill this thread with these in a nights play on 2 tables.

    I won't bother though.
  • edited May 2011
A nights play isn't good enough. It's a miniscule sample.

As is 900 nights play on 2 tables.

But at least 900 nights is a more realistic (yet still very very unre-liable) sample size.

So think back over the last 3 years..............

    DJ read the question properly.

Think back over the last 3 years are you serious?

This is dafter than most of the posts you complain about. Selective memory?????

Beware - THIS IS A LEVEL - You have been warned!

none of the happenings listed above

    they are all everyday events...

  • edited May 2011

Of course they are everyday events, it's poker. But which one happens more than it should?

I thought someone at least would have gone for Pair v Pair!!!

I always read "I got my aces cracked by 22" then in the next freeroll "my kings got busted by pocket 4s"

Flushes hit on the turn or river waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy more often than the 30% or whatever odds on the flop. Not bad beats as such at those odds, but a real crippler when so many play any 2 sooooooted.
