Two's up - HU sng idea.

edited May 2011 in Poker Chat

I suggested this in the last competition, but probably more relevant to this one.

For the sake of the competition the idea will be based on Turbocharged HU sit and go's but it will also work for standard HU sng's.

I propose that for 1 entry fee, you get to play a minimum of 2x HU sng's and a maximum of 3.

You play the same opponent twice/three times until one of you has won 2 games, making it effectively best of 3, or "twos up"

Turbo HU sngs require a totally different skill-set to normal structures. The argument of "if you want a slower game, play a normal HU sng" isn't valid, as there are different skills required to win turbo sngs, therefore it will still be a specialist discipline.

Positives -

- Spreads the insane variance a little bit.

- Makes it less daunting taking shots at higher levels.

- More play/fun for your money.

- More likely that the more skilled player will win.

- Remove the feeling of "injustice" when a donk sucks out on you first hand and declines a re-match.

Negatives -

There aren't any, as this isn't an idea to replace the current games, just add choice.

good idea and to add towards the positives when a player has trouble loading up they dont feel as much of an injustice when 40% of their stack is gone
