A lot of people say this to justify playing at a higher level, but you should just stick at the lower levels where the play is poorer and continue to profit until our roll allows us to move up. I'm all for taking shots, and have been successful and very unsuccessful at doing so in the past but it needs to be against opponents we deem to be beatable, not the better ones. Playing unrolled at a level is -EV, playing unrolled and against good players is - -EV, and unfortunatley two negatives don't make a positive in this instance.

Always preserve your roll and if you take shots make sure its for the right reasons and you are comfortable about the prospect of losing and what it will leave you left. We all sometimes feel indestructible after a heater but it isn't the case, far from it sadly. GL for the future!
