Didnt know weather to post this in the shed, A51 or here.....but its kinda poker related so I opted for the latter.

Anyway I just recieved a FB friends request from a woman.....didnt recognise the photo, but just assumed it was an old school friend who had got married so I wouldnt recognise the surname and accepted.

Anyway, I went straight on her account and it her wall was completely blank accept for loads of recently accepted friends requests and shed loads of comments on these "New friends" status' - all within the last few days.

Curious I clicked on the status comments and every single one said "do you play poker on *another site that shall not be named*. Most people had replied saying "yeah why" or comments to that effect, and then never any reply from this woman.

all of these people are part of this other sites FB page.....I aint played there for months and months so I deffo have not met her.

I suppose it could be someone wanting to be FB friends with people from this other site....but I called BS and blocked her. This sounds dodgy right????

Sky regs have been getting the same recently from a lady with the initials of AB.  Really weird.  Most of the people who shes added are forum regs/well known Sky players so obv some weirdo from the forum!

Just ignore!  Not much that they can do then!

Yeah she had also been asking for their usernames.....and some people gave them.

Just posted on the other sites forum and they think its an affiliate. Wanted details of her in an email so I gave them.

I'm likely on the wrong path but had something similar on FB.  Some glossy looking lass who i didnt know.  Looked on profile and it was just men and poker.  I assumed it was some PR/membership drive.

As a general rule of thumb, don't add anyone on FB unless you are certain you know them. Women posing in photos with names you don't recognize, should ring alarm bells lol unless its LML (prays to God). Giveaway is usally their location, I don't know about you but I don't know anyone from Wisconsin and I received a request from someone from there the other day. Once you've added these people it leaves you susceptible to all kinds of invasions of privacy and not the good kind before anyone says anything haha.

Accepting friend requests from people you don't know, might as well just give them you bank details up front.

Why? My details are not on my profile nor have I ever entered them into FB.....its not like I approved them as a user on my internet banking is it?

I agree its probably not wise, but a bit of an exagaration to compare it with giving them my details up front!! Its tricky, because woman obviously get married and I have met loads of woman with this particular first name, so i might have known her....you can't check until you accept though ......can you?

Anyway like I said I blocked her straight away, once I realised I didnt know her.

Hackers just need your name and D.O.B to start cloning your I.D. which a lot of people have displayed to friends on F.B.  By the time you've read their profile and blocked them, they already might have the info they need.
Next strange friend request, click on their profile and what's on there. Common friends are a good start as you can ask them who this person is.

Just checked and got the request (didn,t accept tho) as well although the location was London

looked on their wall and someone had asked who they were on Sky and they replied :

AB -  I don't have an account on sky. I use my friends, and they don't want me to say....sorry!

Does this persons sirname sound like a chavy clothing brand?

Yeah, I've had the same friend request from Ms B but as i rarely accept people onto my FB that I don't know Its not a problem for me..

She may have got the list of names for the SP page on FB...thats the only way I can see this person having our 'proper' names but not our user names..Either that or it's a reg's missus who think's he's having a poker affair ;o)

    Ignore and move on imo
