"Railing" Tables.

edited May 2011 in Poker Chat

If you are playing on a table is there a way of telling who/how many are watching?
Also, I know there is ettiquette involved when railing, atho a couple of the tables I've railed over the last week you wouldn't think so. Got a couple of Q's..
1. Do most people turn chat off when playing?  (Prob a personal thing?)
2. Is there any def dos/donts?

two rules in my book when railing

1- be polite, yes off course have a joke

2- never tell players how to play

now i don`t think there is a way off knowing how many railers there are, and if player your railing do not reply it may mean there multi tabled so will be on mini veiw

Yeah as sporny says never tell players what to do during the hands.

I'm also not a fan of seeing people crticise players and how they have played after hands have finished either.

Don't get offended if someone doesn't reply to you if you're railing.  They may be:

    1)  In mini-view and therefore not have the chat box open
    2)  Be multi tabling and miss what you are saying.
    3)  Be concentrating on the game.
    4)  Be serving a chat ban

With players getting involved in the chat and the other railers always be respectful and do not talk about a hand in progress.  Also I advise you do not criticise previous play.

    Hi Pad!

There is no way to tell how many people are railing...lots of people rail but never use the chatbox...some people rail only to use the chat box..

If you're ever on a table with a TKP it is likely that some or all of the railing crew will pop by at some point to wish GL and stick around to chat if it's a final table..

The main points to consider are:-

    1. No bad language or threatening behaviour
    2. No trying to put someone on tilt
    3. Be respectful..it's their money and their game, you just have the privilege of watching
    4. Do not criticise any players hands
    5. If you find a table with Jaegerbomb on it feel free to call him a fishhhhhhhh ;o)
    6. Enjoy! If used correctly the rail can be immense fun and you can learn a lot by watching the higher stakes players

    xx
