Simply i think theres something thats gone weird in my game. The simple analysis is im making money playing Live, and one a different online site and well as another online site previously.
Live profits are around £500-£600 mark so not huge amounts of profit but for what i can play locally live its all i can. I play in 1 NL20 cash game per week with spare change i have lying around the play isnt brilliant but certainly of a standard that would match NL10 here. With the odd £20 mtt.
Other site i currently play on. Ive had mixed sucsess on this site. Currently im at double my starting roll playing NL10. 9 seater and 6max. The play is probably similar standard to whats on NL8 here. Playing usually around once a week on this site.
Old site i played on. This was a well known site that is supposedly a better quality of player to most other sites, I played purley mtts, and HU Stts on this site so maybe not a great comparrasson. I hold an ROI of 298% with total profits of $706 from a BR which started at $10.
Sky poker. Im in profit in both STTs and MTTs on sky. Although ROI is not above 20% on either. However cash on sky is my main problem. Im currently -£300 on the site.
Just looking for some advice as clearly its not working for me here, and i love the site, the community its just overall good. But unfortunetly im losing money which i just cant explain. Im not saying its run bad as clearly you dont run bad for 18-24 months and ive had a share of a couple of heaters on sky aswell.
General advice would be aprehiated will also post hands aswell.
Think im actually in loss for STTs on that particular site.
Cheers,
Dave
cheers.
The live games ive been playing for around 12 months with a second or third game the odd week so around a total of 80ish games maybe a few more.
the other site in question maybe a total of 18 sessions again not a big sample size but sessions on this site have been longer than them on sky. All cash based bar 4 mtts 2 of which i came 4th and 5th in for decent cashes, the other 2 i was out early.
I,ve played it for months and beat it pretty much every week, but when I look back at how much I,ve made on a lot of sessions i,d be better off with a job on minimum wage, hence you have to put loads of hours in and multi-table which can be mindnumbing as you know and your not learning anything new
Personally i,m thinking of trying another site in June just for 1 month and play the same stakes, or as near as i can get and see how the standard differs, if at all .
I often hear talk of Sky being a soft site, but with so much help out there and especially with Sky - the community and ch865 the standard is getting better all the time
one bit of advice Iwould give you Don is to mix up your games a bit - DYM,s , micro cash, the odd low stake MTT just to keep it interesting ( I sometimes treat myself to an MTT or sat if i,ve been having good sessions at cash)
GL and always enjoy
I have seen quite a few of your hands in several threads, you have been opening quite big with hands like KJ and A7. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this, but at this level you are getting callers preflop all the time, regardless of how much you raise. These hands are hard to play if you miss.
Maybe you should tighten up your starting range even more (AQ+). Still raise big with these hands. Again this is easier to do the more tables you play.
Also when you are grinding what else are you doing? ie, are you watching tv, browsing the net, looking at this forum? I suggest put some music on and concentrate solely on your tables. For me, listening to Rihanna works a treat.
What i tend to do after an hour of grinding is sit out for two mins. Have a quick jog to toilet for a p***. Get a fresh drink and return. Something like this can help you refocus, especially if you're putting in long sessions.
Hope some of this helps.
