Over pair on flop - what to do next?

I'd never come across this oppo before this evening but if I was him I'd be rushing out to buy a lottery ticket!

He's been at the table around 20 minutes or so & in that time I've seen him raising & calling an all in with underpairs twice & overcards once & hit every time (he was behind all three times).

So what do you do against his raise on the flop? I donked out because I thought it was highly likely I was ahead & I wouldn't be too unhappy about taking it down there & then & tbh I felt there was a strong chance I was still ahead even after the raise. That's partly because of what I'd seen previously & partly because I just had a gut feeling (I can't really explain it but I'm sure you know what I mean!). I just felt that his raise was weak.

Do you re-raise here? If I re-raise then I'm pretty much committing myself to the hand, right? Flat? That just gives him a chance to outdraw me if he's got overs. The only other option is folding but I don't really like that based on my previous statement.

normally i wudnt 3bet the flop as ud b foldin out everythin that u beat + bluffs, and only gettin called by better

How best to do it? How did he stack off previously? (in the pots he sucked out in)

Probably best to raise to 2.50 or something and call it off, but another click raise might let him spa/zz, or the shove might have worked previously?

You must have some sort of read, to decide how best to get it in?

On two occasions he 3-bet called the AI but I can't remember the other one, just remember seeing the result!

When theres a big pot thats had 2 players go to showdown, open the HH and when u get a minute go thru each street for each player and note anything worth noting.

I think a shove, or a smaller raise with a view to snapping it off are both fine.

I think if Im trying to get it in pre I just 3bet shove, cos if he flats a normal sized 3bet (which I expect he will a lot), its often going to be pretty difficult postflop. Might be ok if you have the balls to call him down very light

Thanks for all the feedback peeps. 

I did shove & he snapped me off with AK (& binked but never mind). I felt I was ahead & knew he was a bit of a gambler & although the outcome wasn't what I would've liked at least I feel more comfortable knowing I did the right thing in the long run.
