Will there be a big overlay in the Survivor final?

edited May 2011 in Poker Chat

At the moment there are 165 people in the Tuesday survivor.

So at this stage, at £4 per seat currently, the buy-ins total £660.

However, the prize pool for the final is guaranteed at £2,500. People can still buy-in over the next few days, but here's the question - will there be a big overlay and how much?

Thanks

I reckon you need about 15 direct buy ins on saturday to cover the guarantee.

    Incorrect.
    There were 414 x£1 on Sunday               £414
    There were 109 x £2 buy-ins on Monday.  £218
    There were 61 x £4 buy-ins on Tuesday.  £244

    Total = £876

    Assuming the Buy-ins remain constant £-wise for Wed/Thurs/Fri @ £250

    You'll only need approx 15 peeps to buy-in on sat @ £64

Overlay will be pretty small in my opinion.

In actual fact we were both right. Please remember we posted that earlier in the day (when it was at £660), more people bought in later in the day.

Your methodology is interesting. As you said:

    - £414 added to prize pool on Monday (414 x £1)
    - £218 added on Tuesday (109 x £2)
    - £244 added on Wednesday (61 x £4)
    - Total so far is £876 (before today)

The players buying in each day is falling and is offset by the higher buy-ins (as we expected). The last two days have added £218 and £244 (an average of £231). So four more lots of £231 would add £924.

So if you add this £924 to the £876 above we get to £1,800.

    The Guarantee is £2,500!

This would be an overlay of £700, remembering there are no fees too.

Obviously some of this is guesswork but it'll be interesting to see where we end.

    Thanks

As things stand right now, from all the combinations of qualifiers and buy-ins we are now at 69 people for tonights £16 leg. So cash taken so far is £1,104.

So we are £1,396 short of the £2,500 guarantee right now.

It will be interesting to see where we end up!

If there are only say 20-25 people for the final on saturday, will it be a normal payout structure ie top 3 get paid or will it be top 6 guaranteed? Apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere.

If there are below 30 it will be top three getting 50% / 30% / 20%

    30 to 49 pays top five 40% / 25% / 15% / 11% / 9%

With the prizepool guaranteed at £2500, with currently £1344 in the prizepool and 21 players satelliting into the weekly final. That leaves a shortfall of £1156 so 18 direct buy ins are required to give a shortfall of £4. The final therefore needs to run with 39 players to be successful. I reckon it will be ok!

I agree with 18 x buy-ins.  However, there is currently £1356 in prize pool. That means if 18 buy-in (V. unlikely imo) we're over by £8!

    I know pedantic!

I'm guessing Sky will more than make up for it by Barca winning 4-1??

Two things wrong with the i tonight 1 Euro cup final on the day. 2 payout structure top 3 only payed. Binked out in 10th by scotty with a queen on the turn so not really bothered but people probably not looking to take advantage of the overlay with so few being paid.

I've just found it in the results thread but thanks anyway.

I should have stayed in, at least then the top five would have been in the money.

Bank holiday weekend, cup final, be interesting to see if its better supported this weekend but as i said on another thread its hard to be free to play poker all week if you have any kind of life.

  • edited May 2011
i completely agree with that achill, i cant play everyday in the week some of us do have lifes, every other day i usually have pool, snooker, footy so i wont be playing it unfortunately. Great value tho if you are free everyday
