    hey mate.

altho the pre flop raise is big compared to blind size, i've been told to raise it up highed..maybe 200-300(see my thread below).
its so difficult to put him on a hand here as i cnt imagine u have info on him yet.
he could have a flush draw with ace, could have qj..ive seen ppl call the flop with pocket 2's...then again he could just have a queen and think his ahead...(see my other hand on thread below where guy goes all in with ace9 on a 9 high flop when i had kings)

i probably would of folded as its still too early to risk losing ur chips without any reads.
idea of dym is to survive :).

    hope this helps

Bob, how do you know it's a dym?

    -------------------------------------

aren't there 2 players to act before it gets to you?

It's important to see what they do before we can decide what we should do..... ?

It depends on the villain and the action before obviously, if folds to you i'd prob snap call DYM or whatever

generally people dont overbet donk shove with the nuts, more then likely they have a J or flush draw

if it gets to you HU. and its a normal tournie, then probably do a call.  hard to see what hand that is currently beating you that he would do this with.

if its a DYM its more tricky as he could easily have a draw like AsXs which meants we are effectively flipping.  prob tank lay down in a DYM format as if we are playing these games then we are obviously assuming we have a big edge on the field and losing 5% of our stack doesn't change that.

Well I decided to call and this is what I found out, was just interested to see what you all thought he had, I had him tbh on Aq or flush draw, and sorry dohhhh I should have shown what the other 2 did before it got to me, not sure if me calling was the right thing to do but at the time thats what felt best with me having him what I thought

Oh and yes it was a DYM, played the guy in another DYM just befoe and he was knocked out quick, maybe I was over confident

sorry dohhh, i assumed it was a dym as i see youknowsit playing alot of them.

i'd fold tho as its too much of a flip early on and knowing my luck i'd lose :).

Only my 2nd day playing them just to try and boost my poker points but now I'm addicted, suits my style of play now Ive been playing for a few months, if I found them any sooner I probably would have busted but Im making a tidy little profit on them the last 2 days I have played them

*siggghh*..so unpredictable j2off wouldn't even get considered as a playing hand for me..but then u get these fools who get lucky. and to rub salt in get quads lol.

DYMs are quite good, i prefer tournies with slower blinds..but they take so long to complete. think i might of played you before youknowsit :).

The raise size in this instance is fine..... 5 x BB with 1 limper.

In your hand, Bob, you had raised to 3xBB with two limpers, hence why people are saying raise bigger.

I think the call in this hand is ok, with no reads..... can't go laying overpairs down on a board with draws everytime someone jams some chips in.
Fold would be ok though, particularly if you have a bit of info on how the villain plays their draws.

Cheers for all your feedback guys, was just surprised at what he was actually holding then the carnage that followed on the turn and river lol

in a normal tourney I snap, dont play dyms, I prob call anyway, is this not close in a dym though?
