check and hope he has a flush draw or a jack and that he bets.

Depends. If you always bet flop regardless then bet because if you check then alarm bells should be ringing. if you dont always bet then a check would be good.

Its hard to get paid with these sort of hands. I dont think you could do much to get value out of him.
