Just wondered how many of you read or recommend any poker magazines?? i regularly read PokerPlayer, PokerPro, WPT Poker, Flush.

There are always good articles, tournament round-ups,features, and tips on improving your game.

Which magazines should i also check out and what are the best in your opinions???

    Hi Jaegerbomb,

Well, I have worked for most of them, so I can't really pick one over another! Having just come from WPT Magazine, I can say it's a magazine that they're working hard on to improve and take places. They've had some very good features lately and are generally quite British-focused, so if that's your thing, then it's worth picking up.

We are a little spoilt for choice though. Poker Player is another very good magazine, perhaps the best for strategy at the moment, while Bluff Europe does some very good features and interviews with players others might struggle to get access to. Inside Poker is a magazine I like a lot because I think they're the best for the more advanced players out there. Honestly, it really depends on what you're after and making a decision from there. If you can get them all, I would do it - too much poker is never a bad thing ;)

I subscribe to Inside poker and read Bluff online, a month after it's released in paper format.

I've written Articles & Columns for most Poker Magazines JAEGER, though it has to be said, they don't pay much!

These days I spend most of my time helping with little jobs at Sky Poker, so if I wrote any articles worth reading, I'd want Sky Poker to have first dibs.

I wrote a monthly column for one famous poker Mag & I'm still awaiting my first payment from them - it was only £250 per piece, but I did it for 18 months. I stopped writing it, because of their non-payment, in 2005. Go figure!

thanks, i'll give inside poker a look and if your allowed to say which publication didnt pay you tikay, i think we should all boycott that mag!!!!!

The analysis on sky and the articles in magazines are a better way to learn i think than just watching television poker

    Jaeger,

One thing I am trying to get going in the Strategy section of this very forum is people who want to share their views on how to play the game, etc. While none of us are claiming to be pros, it is a great way to improve your game as well as building confidence in your own style. Pop in and give it a try if you fancy it ;)
