After seeing aces busted for the millionth time! The hand that sent me over the edge!

Whilst paying a £3 double or nothing i see 2 all-ins AA v QQ. Obviously the Queens hold up lol. Hitting a Queen on the flop.

Then with the blinds 25 and 50. Sexy-girl goes all-in with 1265 chips. I am on the big blind with 77. I make the call you've got to call a sexy-girl lol. Hoping its a race AK, AQ, AJ maybe an A rag like really bad rag lol. Bit of a loosish call but hay ho still got 1120 chips left if i lose.

To my suprise sexy-girl flips ovver J 3 clubs.

Not to my suprise the flop comes down Js Kc Jd turn 4s river 6s.

Could anyone tell me how long my bad run will go on for.

J 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hmmmm

ps I am not saying this site is currupt!! Before I get a load of grief from the hardcore Sky lovers. I am just letting off a bit of steam is that ok Tikay? lol

    Have a look at my recent hand posted in bingo site!
    My best advice is play tight, keep player notes and dont push all in preflop too early.

    Why would you call with 77... hoping its a race??? Even if you are up against 27o you could still lose, hence why you push with any two but only call with an absolute premium to increase your chances of winning. Hoping its a race is long term suicide because you need to win at least 55% to beat the rake. Please dont call yourself unlucky if they have 88 and win. You didnt need to call with 77. Maybe thats what your problem is... not 'ridiculous' bad beats.

    No probs m8. I think i realise i could lose against any 2 cards. So what do you make of the all in with the J 3?

    last nite in 11quid ds i was doing well then i had aa busteg and to make things worst i got then ag and busted ag both times same player and he had 10 10 both times now that has pushed me over the edge......when this money has gone i am and after last nite it wont be that long ...gl all and thx 4 reading this maon its random my a rse

    Having read these types of posts a great deal over the past few months, I've spent a considerable amount of time thinking about the best way to combat these issues. As with most things in life, the solution is surprisingly elegant in its simplicity...

     

    If you play a live game at a Pub or Casino; just play your standard game (as espoused by the likes of Dan Harrington, i.e.: Fold pocket Kings to an under-the-gun raiser... Due to the whole Gap Concept, like).

     

    However, if you choose to play on Sky (and let's face it, there's a little bit of the pervert in all of us, so why not indulge your sado-masochistic tendencies once in a while?), then I'd suggest the following strategy:

     

    Pocket Aces: Insta-Fold

     

    Pocket Kings: Fold, but a little more slowly. Let the timer run down a bit first, purely for advertising value you understand.

     

    Pocket Queens; Jacks & Tens: Stroke your chin three times before folding.

     

    Pocket 'Anything': Muck it. Immediately.

     

    Discombobulated Hands: Things like 3,7 off suit, 2,9, or even Jack/Twelve (don't laugh, I was dealt this hand once, just before the server crashed during a Primo Tournament, which I otherwise would have won – and gained a lucrative sponsorship package from).... Not only do I advise playing these on Sky, I actively encourage you to SHOVE with them. Put it this way: If Gus Hansen would play it, then so should you.

     

    If we all comply to this ruling, then we'll start to witness an interesting reversal on the Forum. Pretty soon, you'll see posts from someone called 'Sharky_Snapper_The HUstleM0nkey01', saying things like: “I can't believe it's not butter! I had 3,9 os and shoved all in pre-flop, only to see someone call me with Pocket Aces... AND WIN, without improving on the flop!”

     

    Come on guys, let's make it happen. Play trash, and play it proudly. It's the only sure fire way to win.

     

    I think it's about time someone made me President of a country. I have to go now.
