I fold bud, looks like the nuts/flush here imo

Unless you haVe a solid read you cant really call after the small bets flop & turn, do you think he would value bet flush? as opposed to shove. do you think he will shove Ad here as missed??

seems to be a trend of late small same size bets and then shoved on river not often a bluff imo

    Heya Pod...

U got to think y is he making such a large bet on the river?

Is it to try and get you off the hand... I dont think so because as far as he knows you could b slow playing the flush so i cant see him doing this with anything else but the nuts... Possibly a set but i would say he has the flush... You have top pair with a Q kicker is it worth a crying call?

You havnt invested alot into the pot and for this reason its a fold for me! :)

Think for ages to find a hand that you can beat so you can justify a call.

^^^^ Spend half my poker life doing that, often I can't even think of one but call anyway to see if I'd missed 1 out.

    Ad x looks good here.

    Call ! :)

your villain has bet 16.50 into £9.75 pot alarm bells gotta be ringing

you have invested £4.50 , why call of £16.50 as a general rule always going to be - ev calling

essentially 99% of time your going to be wrong but its completely villain dependant im sure everyones called here vs complete noob but you have to be right results orientated ftw

all that was going through my mind was if he hit a 120:1 (sure someone told me it was about that to flop a flush) then so be it! taking that out the equation i think im ahead post flop. i know i didnt bet flop but on that board i wanted to get to river as cheap as possible without another diamond comming. so once the river (and no diamond) came, i am still either ahead or miles behind leaving me with the same question has he hit his 120:1 shot or not. dont know if my thinking was right here or not ( i am sure someone will tell me if it aint!)

Im sure its about 50/1 to flop the flush lol?

I just dont see the point in calling that much when u have invested so little?

Like YG said depends on the villian and down to your gut feeling!

  • edited June 2011
are you sure only 50/1!! ruddy ell, thats a bit different!! that might change things in the future :-0
  • edited June 2011
I would rule out a flush straight away from his bet sizing. He would bet bigger on the turn with a flush, or that's what I would assume readless.

    Definitely rule out a set.

I think calling is good here, he's got the A diamonds and missed.

He either has Ace of diamonds or flopped flush here thats obvious but if he has owned you with Ad WP him i think its a bad call

the new trend seems to be bet small and same sized bets each and jam river with nuts hence why i am folding here.

According to my very quick and  probably wrong calcs with suited hole cards you are~0.84% to flop a flush.

What the hell has how much we have invested in pot got to do with anything?

I'm not playing enough to be sure if this is call or fold but it looks a lot like missed draw to me

OFC it has to do with it lol

everthing makes a difference and the fact that he has invested £4.50 in the pot theres no need to get attached and call for £16 more

I dont think it makes any difference how much money we have already put in pot. If its so lol explain it to me.

We dont own the money in the pot all that matters now is whether its profitable to call villains river bet. If it is it doesnt matter how much we have put in

Why didn't you bet out on the flop ?
  • edited June 2011
to be fair dude i was caught in 2 minds weather to play it aggro and lead out strong , but another diamond woulda cost me what else iput in the pot or float it and see what the turn and river brings. not sure if this was right as i left myself open to a big river bet. ok it paid off this time but it was risky.
