Most memorable goal: David Platt v Belgium in 1990 world cup, scored in last minute of extra-time to take us into quarter-final.We were at brighton races for my brothers stag do,persuaded mini-bus driver to stay late so we could watch the game in pub near the track, one of the best drinking, punting, footie days of my life.

                                       Have a good show

    Hi folks,

Yep- I'm back and chomping at the bit (quite whose bits, I'll leave that for you to decide).

It's another live feast of pokertainment on your super-soaraway Channel 865
Sky Poker TV tonight, all kicking off of course at the princely time of 9pm.

It's all cash this evening and the main focus will be on the low to mid-stakes. So for those of you who've felt a little left out over the last few weeks as we've covered the big boys, then tonight's your chance to shine!

In the command module alongside me will be sports supremo, Trevor Harris.

And tonight we'll be playing the game that just won't go away...

    Trevial Pursuit

Here's tonight's twist: Trevor will take as many callers as possible and each time they'll get 30 seconds to guess as many footballers that Trev will pull out of a hat and describe to them. Whoever gets the biggest score in their 30 secodns tonight will win a 55 quid entry a Sunday Primo!

Email us now with your name and phone number if you want to take part in this tonight, live on air.

The topic? Well, I don't know about you, but Wimbledon and the like are already doing my head in. I WANT THE  FOOTBALL BACK!

To keep the flame alive in the off-season, let's do a subject that was a massive hit on Twitter this week...

    THE GOAL I REMEMBER

Tell us which one and why it was memorable.  Were you there at the game? Were you watching it in a pub or at home with your mates? Was your wife about to give birth? Did you lose a bet? Maybe you scored the goal yourself? Or do you remember it simply because it's the best goal you've ever seen?
WHY DOES ONE GOAL FOREVER STICK IN YOUR MIND?

The two I can think of are Michael Owen's wondergoal against Argentina at the World Cup 1998 and David Beckhams's last minute free-kick v Greece to get us into the 2002 World Cup finals.

Each time I screamed, fist-pumped, and did an impromptu lap of honour in front of a roomful of people.  I can't think of any other goals to match them for the sheer unadulterated joy they brought me!

Over to you! Plus of course, your usual comedy banter, hand requests etc.

    See you at 9! :-)

Graeme Sharps stunning 35-yard strike at Analfield in 1984.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsBCEmKle_c

For matches I've been to I'd have to say Stuart McCall v Sweden in 1990 world Cup and Paul rideout at wembley in 1995.

not a goal story but related, my misses started labour at 12pm on a saturday afternoon and she wanted to go to hospital, but no way so i persauded her to leave it at long possible, we`ll that`s what the midwife said, so at least i managed to get the final scores before i took her to the hospital at 6pm, as it turned she never gave birth till sunday nite 6.25pm where she had an emergency c/section, now the doctor asked if i wanted to come in with her, my reply was no-way it took me 7months just to get into delivery room there not giving me 20 mins notice to see her gut sliced open

Rob Edwards scored what must surely be one of the best "team goals" ever for Huddersfield at Maine Road, Manchester in 1997. I know I'm biased, but if Brazil had scored this goal, they'd still be talking about it. I have posted the link so you know I'm not exaggerating!

The best goal I've seen live.

    Hi Rich, Trev

Most memorable goal, easy peasy, it is 1991 and round 4 of the then Littlewoods Cup, at the County Ground, the Super Owls had a midfielder by the name of John Harkes, in the Derby net, well, only Peter Shilton, so no worries there :), Harksey was fed the ball in midfield, he took 1, 2, 3 touches, 35 yards out let fly with his right peg, straight as an arrow into the top left hand corner of the net, Shilton, no chance whatsoever (Won the English Football Goal of the year award:)), then of course the final winner by John Sheridan both great goals in thier own right. GET IN lolol.

If you want to see it, it is right here

You can't show this (obviously) but for the avoidance of doubt, THIS is a goal:

(If I have to have a cliched football one it's Sheringham, Champions League, yawn...I'd just run into the garden to tell my dad about the equaliser and just as I got back into the room they scored again. I screamed and my mum told me off.)

Edit: this is also a goal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzbmI6-YSnQ&feature=related

The goal I remember the most has got to be the beachball goal against Liverpool  17.10.09, I had a bet with my friend cause he supports Liverpool and I support Chelsea and we had a bet that if Liverpool let a goal in then he would admit Chelsea is better than Liverpool :)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5loeV-_4og

a little bit of bad luck XD

Aaron Lennon's equaliser for Spurs vs Arsenal in the 4-4 game a few years ago - bet Trev loved this too!!!!

All the hype was how Arsenal were gonna crush us after we'd thrashed them in the Carling Cup
(and their excuse of it being their youth team). Was watching the game with an Arsenal fan who had spent the whole match gloating. When the goal went in, I jumped, shouted, ran around the living room, high fived my son, jumped some more and then gloated back for the rest of the season :)

Oh, we won the Carling cup that season too - something that filled the trophy cabinet apart from the dust that fills the cabinet at The Emirates ;)

Wethers goal v Liverfool that kept us (albeit briefly...) in the Premiership...and had the added pleasure of keeping the fools out of Europe...

The final few minutes went something like this...

Wimbledon's 14-year stay in the top flight of English football has ended, and Bradford are to spend a second season in the Premiership.

David Wetherall scored an early goal for Bradford against Liverpool to give his side a real chance of Premiership survival.

Wayne Bridge's 57th minute free kick goal for Southampton against Wimbledon meant that it was the Dons who were heading to the Nationwide League with an hour gone in both games.

When Saints striker Marian Pahars made it 2-0 at The Dell with 11 minutes remaining, it meant that Bradford only needed a draw.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, the beginning of our demise!!!

    xx

Fantastic goals. The Harkes goal is one of the best i've ever seen. The Sheridan goal was brilliant, for us in the 2nd division to beat Man Utd in a final was awesome.

I'd have to put Chris Waddles free kick in the FA Cup semi final against our neighbours as my favourite goal.

Just because of the occasion, to be playing our bitterest rivals at Wembley in an FA Cup semi final was epic.

    25 April 1992

    Sheffield United v Leeds United

    score is 2-2

A Leeds win will put them 4 points clear at the top of the Old Division 1 with one game to go.

A long clearance by Leeds, being marshalled back to the goal by Sheffield Captain Brian Gayle, Simon Tracey the Sheffield goalie coming out to the edge of the area.

As the ball bounces, Gayle knees it up into the air and as Tracey comes to collect, Gayle decides to head it back towards goal, putting it past Tracey and into the goal for a 3-2 win for Leeds.

Both memorable and funny, a ridiculous way to win the league championship  but hey myself and every other Leeds fan didnt care how it went in in the end :)

Quite obviously being a man utd fan I should give trev a rub down and say my most memorible is Ryan Giggs' epic goal but no. I have to say it has to be ole gunnar solskjaer's winner in the 98-99 treble winning season in the champions league. I remember i was about 8 and was crying in my room when i heard my dad scream and upon hearing that ran downstairs opened the door and as i did so entered the room just as beckham took the corner and the feeling that went through me when it words dont describe

Also as the footie season has finished I've found myself getting into the whole haye vs klitschko fight and i have to say it is building up nicely and should end in a ko either way but im putting money on Haye. So I'll probally miss a bit to most of the master cash show next week but dont fear ill sky+ it ;-)

Trev might be able to help me with name for my favourite ever goal.  I saw it on Saint and Greavesy, it's from a South American league game in the 1980s and the goal keeper takes the ball from his own box, dribbles down the right wing and fires it into the goal from just outside the box.  Apparently years before Sylvester Stallone pitched this for the ending to Escape to Victory and Bobby Moore said 'That never happens.'

Being an archetypal tight Scot my two memorable goals both won me money. To redeem myself both were scored by my favourite teams in important games though.

Goal 1 : Ulises de la Cruz for the mighty Hibs against the lowly Hearts. I had £5 on him to score both 1st goal @ 28/1 and £5 on last goal @ 28/1. He scored a peach into the top corner to get the first goal. Then scored the 2nd goal too. Alas Hearts pulled one back voiding my last gs bet. You would have thought. But checked my account later and lo and behold they'd mistakenly paid out on both bets! Happy days. I won't tell you the bookie involved. Mainly because you're both working for them at the moment. Shhhh ;-)

Goal 2 : Cantona winner for Manu FA cup win over Liverpool. I had £5 bets on Cantona 1st gs, Cantona last gs, ManU to win 1-0 and £20 on ManU to win in 90. All bets came in with Le Genius's's scuffed volley 7 minutes from time. Happy days.

By the way cheers for pulling my name out the hat on Thursday night Trev. Unbelievable prize. Now to take it down :-)

Another of my favourites was Paul Scholes' wonder volley at Valley Parade.

Irene's favourite as well on the quiet

Ah those were the days...following the scores on teletext....the agony of that injury time defeat...the ecstasy of the late winner...and waiting for the result to be confirmed and always missing the page with your team on and having to wait for 3 or 4 pages to scroll round :-)

One of my most memorable goals was Ally McCoist against Switzerland in euro 96. Not only was it our first and only goal of the tournament, at that moment we had qualified for the first ever time EVER from the group stages, as long as England held on to their 4 0 lead against Holland. The news got filtered around the ground and Scotland started to play nervously. They were basically relying on England not conceding and the whole of Scotland were supporting England for once. Unfortunately, this news also reached David Seaman who decided that it would be good idea to let Patrick Kluiverts duffed shot go thru his legs. Gutted

Another memorable goal was when Ronaldinho lobbed Seamen from 40 yards. I was in Ayia Napa and remember jumping out of my seat in shock shouting 'What a goal', before realising that i was surrounded by 500 England fans. In my defense, I was just supporting Brazil as thats our 'other national team' when we fail to qualify (which is all the time now) plus I had a big bet on Brazil to win the World Cup. kaChing ;) Long live Fat Ronaldo.

Also, love the Murray Walker impersonation Rich. Have u seen him commentating on snooker. Its hilarious.
