Neildown please! please do not delete this, i dont think he was trolling/flaming etc

Lots of player on here love him(literally obv) and i dont see how bringing a bit of comedy can be classed as a ban IMO, he was never personal to anyone and is a great asset to the community. Also Hitsquad member which we dont want to lose.

Please reconsider Sky Dave, also can you explain why he has got banned on forum & table chat even though he has not done anything wrong on the tables?? he also wont play on here unless chat is re-instated which is quite right too

So sky do you want to lose another valued member of the community over something silly??

    great asset to sky, had me in stitches many i time. loud, full on yes! bad person no. unfortunatly john i remember the mickjenn thing and sky never backed down, even though he goes to live events with sky and is friends with most presenters. we are going to get " you havnt got the full storey"  and the rules state etc etc im afraid. phil

     Defo agree with this .
     Neildown  is a bit of a joker ,
    everyone knows that in this forum.

    His crime is
    he joked about a skypoker employee ,
    and sky went ott on him
    and chat banned him indefinitely .

    THIS FORUM HAS BEING GOOD FUN OF LATE ,
    FORUM PEEPS & MODS ARE WORKING WELL TOGETHER .
    TAKE NOTE SUITS NEILS COMMENT WAS ONLY A BIT OF FUN .

    There goes the primo seat i was looking for in the
    new  dym comp lol .
    Ah well better to be a man then a mouse .

    Total over reaction to what was a humorous post.

    There has been a lot of effort and hard work put in lately to re-invigorate the forum - not by the mods but by the members. 

    Banning Neil just undermines all that effort - talk about shooting yourselves in the foot.


    I see we have some no votes - stand up and be counted if you think it was justified.

    the joke of it all is neildown was a mod on anotoher forum so knows the boundaries and what is asked of mods its over a silly arguement which i assume has been taken out of context

    Only issue here is if sky re instate neils privileges then why wont they do it for other people who have been banned for similar offences. Could get messy...

    I voted for option 2 as i don't think he said anything untoward in the table chat so seems harsh to ban him there also.

    If you didn't want people to vote no why put it up as an option.

    No idea what he's done so can't really vote.

    He seemed like a decent guy though. I quite like his brand of humour.

    True but it could potentially bring alot of trouble for sky. If someone else commits a simialar offence in the future, something like this could be used against sky "oh well you let neildown off so why not me" blah blah, all im saying is it could get messy for sky. But what do i know :)

    However much i agree with this thread in principle, i must say that it will serve no purpose whatsoever other than to allow sky now to dig their heels in. I remember when another forum member got banned and the decision was overturned through 'diplomatic' means, ie by way of PM's with the sky peeps, you must remember they need to save face and they definately cannot show favouritism, reinstate him now, and everyone will want a reprieve. Is he banned for life or just a month? if it is life it sure is a hard sentence, i think sky should get Ken Clarke in as forum justice minister lol. I also agree with elsa, the usual forum peeps that had 'gone away' and now 'come back' and got some humour and fun back in must wonder why they bother.

    TBF i did consult neildown before starting the thread

    Also had 1 pm from a no and i appreciate if you dont want to be named but do understand he may have rubbed people up the wrong way but mainly in good humour

    I don't know the full background of what's gone on here but I'm happy to post what I believe has happened.

    It had been noted that more and more posters on the forum had been posting using various methods to post disguised language that wouldn't pass the fiter.

    Since Sky Poker is part of the larger Sky organisation and that wouldn't be allowed elsewhere it was seen as a better choice to post up a warning about doing this to try and prevent it becoming more and more common.

    Neildown then made a post doing exactly that.

    This along with other posts led to the ban.

    Whether this is a permanant ban (chat or forum) I don't know, none of the mods know, that is a decision for Sky Poker to make and not community moderators.

    I'd like to point out that I'm a great fan of Neildown's humour and have always enjoyed his company at the table and the rail.

    I believe what I have posted pretty much sums up what has happened and what I know.

    Often I see remarks about how Sky Poker / mods are ruining the community, killing the comedy, losing all the fun, alienating fun characters.  Wouldn't simply posting without swear words prevent all of that?

    To suggest that community moderators are ignoring posts, not replying, picking on individuals is incorrect.

    Not sure I can say anything else that would help / dig me a deeper hole.

    Thank you for your response Machka, i believe he has been told its a lifetime ban (not 100% or whether i have made this up)

    in respect of swearing we all do little things to disguise it, cos after all people should be over 18 on here as long as its not directly at someone or OTT i dont think thats too bad, i can understand why there is zero tolerence but to assist in getting a ban?? 

    what i dont understand is why his table chat was revoked?? he often railed a few of us and was always good banter usuallly cheering on Massie vs me tbf :P

    From what I know of this swearing or masked swearing didn't come into it. There was inuendo, but this is an adult forum, and after all we hear inuendo from the presenters every night on 865.

    This ban is ''Teddy out of the pram'' as far as I can tell.

    This is what i was referring to, it seems to me that you put the no option up but didn't expect anyone to vote for it.

    I did post in shed thread how at times i found him funny but i'm sure he wasn't everybody's cup of tea and they might be glad to see the back of him.

    Do agree that they could post reasons but most votes in life are anonymous.
