Live Poker Bad Beats

edited July 2011 in Poker Chat
People go on and on about how online poker is rigged.

If the session that I played in last night at my local casino had happened on Sky... Area 51 would have had a melt down.

Bear in mind the casino I go to is all casino dealer dealt and the standard of dealers is pretty high

I sat down at a new cash table they have set up.  Low ball for some of the players on here but for me, just getting into cash it is a great format.  Blinds are 25p and 25p  minimum you can sit at the table with is £5 maximum is £30, The maximum prevents people sitting down with a big chip stack and just buying the pots.  One guy sat at the table pulled out £150 and slapped it on the table. Only to be told £30 max.  He did his nut, said the table was a joke and he should be allowed to sit down with whatever he felt like.

Our cheerful chappie eventually quieted down and put his £30 on the table.  First hand he get's his £30 all in with an Ace Flush, his opponent has flopped a straight flush.

Kerching -£30

Next hand he has a Ace Ten,  Flop comes down 5 10 10  he gets it all in and is called by a rather good looking scottish player, who rides a BMW and is holding pocket 5's

Kerching two hands and our hero is -£60

3 hands later our hero flops a full house, Jacks over Aces... get's it all in....  Opponent, not our hansom Scot this time, has Aces over Jacks

Kerching  -£90

Cheerful chappie sits patiently for a few rotations, then shoved pre flop with A Q  gets called by A K

Kerching -£120

The very Next hand, I kid you not,  CC flops a fullhouse gets it all in.... opponent turns over Quads

Kerching -£150 in 20 minutes.

maybe the table wasn't as much of a joke as he thought.....

lol! Serves him right for getting mouthy about the max sit down.

(or not, that really is some stinking luck, wouldn't wish it even on a mouthy bigshot)

Typical poker player's view of events.

What the OP failed to state is that it was actually him who lost all this money (there was a mirror opposite him!)

Not saying he is a poor player but.....he even lost the pot when there was only him and his image in the hand!

ACTUALLY  Mr Alan..... I had refrained from turning this into a brag Post but, if you insist,  I sat down with £30 and left the table in the wee small hours with £210 in my wallet, ( and not a single reload before you ask )  ;0)

I'll stick to on-line. At least when the bad beats happen you're free to break down in tears, swear violently or kick the cat without making a public spectacle of yourself.
