That's a bit harsh, don't you think Claire? I mean, the guy has been working at it for ages to try and make a name for himself and he's got his big break.
If he keeps it up, he'll soon be bigger than Orford.
Chau Giang opens from UTG to 800 and Julian calls. The button calls, as does the SB so it's four to the flop.
6-4-3, two spades.
It checks around to the button, who leads out for ~900. The SB now raises to ~2700, Chau folds and Julian shoves for his last 8500. It's the button who goes in to the tank first, and for a good minute or so before passing. The SB almost immediately releases his hand.
"If he wasn't behind me I was snap calling", claims the button. He had 9-9.
Jules wouldn't have minded that as he had top set with 6-6.
Beaneh is on 30k. He's got a couple of short stacks on his table as well as one guy on the far end of his table who couldn't miss if he tried, apparently. Not the easiest set up for accumulating chips, so it feels like he's doing the right thing by just treading water and biding his time.
Short food break for the team here, so back in 30 minutes or so (in case any of you are actually awake at 5am!)
A great interview with Jamie Gold- Winner of the WSOP NLH ME 2006. Fan of Sky Poker and channel 865 and he's incredibly enthusiastic about attending the SPT Final at DTD........ details have been swapped so hopefully we'll see him there
I'm still awake just .....Think everyone else has gone to sleep, part timers... Great work Dave, please send JT my regards, fingers crossed he finishes with above 30k.... GB Posted by GliterBabe
That sounded rude!!! Sorry Great work Claire and TK too, now get the tea made
Julian's mini-revival continues, moving up to 19k. In the other room, Beaneh is down to 27k or so after losing a small top against KQ on a Q-x-x-x-x board.
Peter and Andrew are both on the rail, while Roy and his wife have headed down to the Strip for a meal and a night out of the Rio. Good idea. Not that I am jealous, oooooh no.
No sign of Jonny since this morning, although I suspect he's off in one of the afternoon MTTs. He could even have been in the Pavillion Room here, but it's just so massive I couldn't see him for love nor money.
We've got 45 minutes of level 5 remaning, where the blinds are 150/300/a25. Next up is 200/400/a50, which means the round of poker is going to go up to 1100 rather than 700. It's going to start hurting some of the short stacks, so should be an interesting finish to the evening.
In interesting side news, it seems one player might not be allowed back in to Day 2 of the WSOP after he was banned from all Harrah's properties in an incident overnight.
His offence, bizarrely, seems to be throwing a woman's clothing out of a window. Must be nice...

Cheers Niterbabe, no chance of a cuppa out of Kendall though...
P.S Still in shock at that 7-2o. Didn't know you had it in you!
Kevin 'Lovejoy' O'Leary is a good friend of Julian's and is out in the Pavillion Room fighting off a table seemingly infested with luckboxes. He's managed to fold K-K on a Q-T-9 board after the two other players who called him pre-flop went to war. Luckbox #1 flopped a set of 9-9 but clearly needs lessons from Luckbox #2 who had T-T.
Some of us (me) have been to bed and got up to follow this - staying up is easy - getting up at 5am is hard - great reports, sounds like a ball out there.
23k. According to Tikay he seems to have found a groove, and more helpfully, a kid who is looking a bit spewy. He even managed to get a cold 3bet through despite it being a load of old tosh.
We've got one more level of play tonight and Claire is working like a busy bee to get a few more videos up for your enjoyment. We've even managed to get the elusive Beaneh on some of it.
We'll hopefully be interviewing Julian at the end of play too so he can tell us how many chips he's taking into Day 2B. Fingers crossed, all!
Opened the button with K8o and the BB 3 bet him. He didn't think he was strong, so shipped it and got called by 6-6. Obviously Julian didn't win the flip, which leaves him with 15BBs.

Went all in with A-K but got called by another A-K. Choppy choppy.
Very next hand he shoves again with A-K and this time gets called by....
Wait for it....
Qh-9h.
He holds. SHIP THEWY THE 11k!
693 players will be paid, with a min cash just over $19k. $8.7m for first. That'd be nice, right?

Oh, you didn't mean Tikay.
Ooops.

Nice fold, Kevin.

Julian is on around 20k, Beaneh on 26k.
They lost a few pots. Nothing major, nothing else to say.

We got into the Amazon and Pavilion rooms here at the WSOP and got Julian, Beaneh, and Jamie Gold at the table
