UKIPT Brighton

Hi all

Will anybody be attending this event in Brighton this week? Main Event kicks off 2pm on Thurs which is day 1a , day 2 b same time on Friday....

I will be playing Thursday day 1a if anyone else is playing... I will of course be fitted out in the blue of team sky poker and anyone can follow my progress to the Final table on twitter...

    Never been to Brighton.  But it is a bit far for me just to nip down, about 250 miles, so will have to give it a miss on this occassion.  Very best of luck though - run well!  Hope to see you and Helen in Cardiff.

     Played my first ever game of poker in a pub league with him 4 years ago!!

    Its a Dolphin race, that you move along by quickly rollin your 3 balls down some holes like skittles, but holes !!!!

    Bout 1/2 way down the pier, on the left, Wayne will know it lol !!

    Me, Monkey123, sic swans & Dauncey played it pi55ed up, for a couple of hours, one sunday, after we had played a pub poker tourney at The Queens Head, Wayne knows that as well, then got thrown out of the g-casino, & nearly The Grand where we were Staying, Wayne defo knows that too!!

    We could not find a g.a.y. bar anywhere, cause i wanted to show off ma suit!! Wayne wouldna know where one of them was in Brighton am sure!!

    in fact ma profile pic was from THAT VERY DAY i swear!!

    Dave your just tooo funny lol....If I ever find myself inthe east part of Brighton I know I'm going to be in trouble...

    Managed to make day2 of ukipt, how I'm still not sure was card dead pretty much throughout. Every 2b got 3betted and if it wasn't 3betted I found resistance and when you miss every board you know it's not going to be your day...Penultimate level of day blinds 400/800,75A managed to spin my bowl of rice 6k upto 28k, finding 88 vs AQ 13k pot flop A8Q miss miss...next hand AQ vs a small stack shove holding AJ, board runs out 2 10 2 A 10 13k pot :) on a roll...So within 2 hands I'm upto 20k and feeling a little better that was until the very next hand when I open MP for 1,750 gets passed round to SB who insta shoves for 8k, the guy has been real patient and contemplate folding but his range here can be quite wide, please don't be holding AK, I sigh call " Yup he has AK FML " back to 12k :(... Win a couple more pots but no showdowns with an OR and call, I shove couple of times holding 99 and KQ gets through..

    Last level of day 500/1000 ..100A Really looking for a good spot in this level or a decent hand, which ever comes first..Ideally want to be coming back Saturday with 40k+ which was just below ave...Young German kid on table has been the aggressor opening up almost everyhand MBN to be sitting there with 60k, He raises from button for the hundredth time or so it seemed..I'm not one to be bullied and  I look down at  8 5 off and pretend I'm looking at KK, I 3b to 5,100 and Mr nice German  guy does the right thing and mucks. I of course show him 8 high to which he responded " you were winning " , Hmmmmm not convinced..
    Into the last 30mins of play for the day ( there are 10 levels of play each 1 hr long )  I'm sitting with 24k and really hoping for a double up, to come back Saturday with over 40k gives me something to work with... I find KQ in MP and make std raise 2.2k it folds round to SB who sitting with 10.2k and announces " All-In " Grrrrr I hate these decisions, I go into the tank for at least a min, thinking this guys range can be so very wide here, Small pair any Ax... It's a 23k pot and I'm most defiantly racing, but I just can't let go I want those chips plus I might be ahead...I make the call and the guy to my delight tables QJ board runs out 3 8 9 K 2...Guy storms from table muttering something , I say gg ul sir the exit door is over there :)... Ten minutes of play left and nothing really happening , feeling quite happy with myself grinding 6k back to 34k.. The end of day play is announced and we bag the chips in readiness for day2 on Saturday....

    248 players started day1a, 65 survived, chip average 47k with a 1st prize in the region of 60k+.... Best of luck to Mr LjamesL and Mr Browndagg who play day1b today . See you on the other side guys 2pm Saturday!!!
